An estimate is a projection of the likely cost of any undertaking. Before beginning any project or job, it is important to be aware of the project’s estimated potential cost. The main goal of estimation is to make it possible to determine the price of the work before it begins. Ar. Sudhir Kumar Chandel who is an academician and Industry Expert will guide students on how to estimate and find the approximate cost of the project. Students will learn the Civil works involved in the Interior Design Project like Walls, Plasters, Granite Flooring, Marble & Tile Floorings, Window, and Door frames, Waterproofing, Kitchen Platforms, Wall tiling, Fixed furniture works like Main door & Safety doors, TV units, Wardrobes, Bed with siders and Headrest, Dressing unit, Shoe rack etc. He will also be giving a lecture on the Working Drawings and how to read them for our estimation works. The most important point that he will be creating is the Rate Analysis for all the items considered in Interior Works for any project.

The name Kalamkari originates from Persian words qalam (pen) and kari (craftmanship). Andhra Pradesh is famous all over for this form of art. The major forms are Srikalahasthi from Chittoor district, and Machilipatnam Kalamkari of Krishna district. The whole process of Srikalahasthi Kalamkari involves seventeen steps such as block making followed by cloth treating, printing, and washing etc. The Srikalahasthi style of Kalamkari is used mostly for narrating the religious myths and also epics on fabric while the saris of this particular style are renowned for its classy and artistic borders and pallu. Kalamkari colours are made mostly from vegetable dyes. The popularity of this exquisite form of painting has earned international repute for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
