Did you know that if you put 100 black ants and 100 red ants in a jar, nothing will happen?

But if you shake the jar vigorously, the ants start hitting each other...!!

This is because red ants consider black ants as their enemies and black ants consider red ants as their enemies.

The true enemy is the one stirring the jar.

The same happens in human society also.

So, before attacking each other we should think about who is shaking the jar. 👈

Old one... but still so relevant!!

This is called S.O.S !! The Slower, Older, and Smarter

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears.

The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus, and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!"
He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, "Well, how was that?"

The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!"

The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, "Well, how was that?

Confused, the jet pilot asks, "What did you do?"

The Airbus pilot laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry.

The moral of the story is: When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seem to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.

Building a city, not huts

Tata Steel faced tough years after World War I. Demand for steel had collapsed.

Even during this grim period, the Company continued to invest in building the town of Jamshedpur, and in worker welfare.

Some shareholders criticised Tata Steel harshly, for building sanitation and housing during a difficult time, rather than focusing on profits alone.

The matter came to a head in Oct. 1923, at a tense AGM of the Company.

R.D. Tata (Director, also father of J.R.D. Tata – pic. below) rose to speak, facing angry shareholders. He told them :

“We are constantly accused by people of wasting money in the town of Jamshedpur.

We are asked why it should be necessary to spend so much on housing, sanitation, roads, hospitals and on welfare…Gentlemen, people who ask these questions are sadly lacking in imagination.

We are not putting up a row of workmen’s huts in Jamshedpur – we are building a city.”

Tata Steel returned to profitability by 1930s, with even stronger commitment of its workforce.

In our own lives, we too can choose to build a city, by being steadfast to our goals, and generous in our approach, in whatever we do.
