They are not afraid of studying.
They are afraid of becoming their marks.
Class 10 is often seen through books, timetables, tests and preparation. But beneath the visible performance may live another world:
“What if I fail?”
“What will my parents think?”
“Everyone else is ahead.”
“What if I choose the wrong future?”
During this AntarDisha workshop, 110 Class 10 students explored how pressure affects their thoughts, bodies, concentration, confidence and relationship with rest.
We spoke about how pressure does not always look like panic. Sometimes, it appears as procrastination, irritability, silence, forgetfulness or an inability to begin.
And we explored one important shift:
**Pressure asks:** “What if I fail?”
**Direction asks:** “What can I do next?”
The aim was never to ask students to stop caring about their marks or future. It was to help them care without losing themselves inside the process.
One anonymous reflection stayed with us:
“The pressure that kills from inside.”
Some words cannot be reduced to a percentage. They remind us that student wellbeing cannot begin only after performance starts falling.
Marks can measure performance.
They cannot measure the whole person.
Before asking how much a student has studied, perhaps we also need to ask:
**“How is studying making you feel?”**
Save this conversation. Share it with a parent, teacher or anyone preparing a young person for the boards.
