On the occasion of Global Hand Washing Day, 15th October, Department of Clinical Microbiology, AIMSR, Bathinda organised a Hand Washing Campaign at St. Kabir, Convent Sr Sec School under the patronage of Dr Gurpreet Singh Gill.
The awareness program was presided over by Dr Upasana Bhumbla, Professor & Head, Department of Microbiology, where she emphasized the significance of hand hygiene in Infection Prevention.
Active and enthusiastic participation of the school children was the key component of this successful campaign.
In addition to this, demonstration of the WHO recommended six steps of hand washing techniques were carried out by the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Infection Control for the dignitaries of AIMSR, clinicians, healthcare professionals and the MBBS students of Phase II.
These interactive, educational sessions reinforced the importance of hand washing, thus promoting a holistic culture of Infection Prevention and Control.

International Yoga Day Celebration at Adesh University โ 21st June 2025
Adesh University celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm and spirit in the university auditorium. The event witnessed a vibrant participation of 120+ students from various colleges under the university umbrella, making it a collective celebration of health, harmony, and mindfulness.
The auditorium echoed with energy as students from different streams came together to embrace the ancient Indian practice of Yoga. The session began with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of the day and the theme of the year. A trained yoga instructor led the gathering through a series of asanas, pranayama, and meditation, emphasizing the importance of mental and physical well-being in todayโs fast-paced life.

International Nurses Day Celebration 2025
The College of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day 2025 with great enthusiasm on 12th May at 2:30 PM. Faculty members and students from GNM 1st year and M.Sc Nursing 1st year actively participated in the event. Mrs. Anita Rani, Assistant Professor, highlighted the significance of the day in her address. Students contributed through singing and sharing their thoughts on the importance of the occasion. The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Principal, Prof. Shridhar K. V., and concluded with the distribution of sweets to students and faculty members.

The audience was introduced to the WHO World Health Day Theme of this year i.e., โHealthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futureโ. On this day a Quiz contest for MBBS students was conducted under Nodal Officer, Dr Gurkirat Singh Sidhu, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine under the aegis of Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine with support of IAPSM.
A preliminary round was conducted on 2nd April 2025. A total of 55 teams consisting of 165 students from all Batches participated in preliminary round. Among these 4 teams with 3 students each were selected for final quiz competition. Final quiz was held on 7th April 2025 with Quizmasters - Dr Gurkirat Singh Sidhu and Dr Japneet Sidhu, Score-keepers - Dr Harshpreet and Mrs. Neetu Swain and Time-keeper - Dr Maninder Singh Rajpal. Final quiz consisted of four rounds: MCQ round, Visual Insight Round, One word Round and Rapid-Fire round. Along with participants, audience also participated in the quiz. Dr Jagriti and Dr Kanika assisted in the conduction of the event and sensitized the audience to this yearsโ World health day theme. Team of Shefali, Ridhima and Harsh*ta Bansal of Batch 2021 were declared winners at the end of the quiz competition. They were awarded Certificates of achievement and medals and shall be representing AIMSR in State level round. All other qualified teams received Certificate of merit and all participating students received Certificate of participation.

The 77th Independence day was celebrated with great joy and pride at Adesh University on 15th August 2023 organised by College of Nursing, Adesh University. The programme began by 8.30 am in the morning with the flag hoisting by the Chief guest Dr. R.G. Saini, Acting Registrar, Dean post graduate Research and studies. All saluted the flag and sang National anthem followed by the welcome speech addressed by Prof. Betcy Mathew, Acting Principal, College of Nursing. Dr. R.G Saini, Chief guest delivered a speech mentioning "Independence Day is a reminder of many sacrifices and struggles made by the Indian freedom fighters". Then the students sang patriotic songs, danced, played a role play and recited poems on highlighting the significance of the day. This was followed by vote of thanks by .
