🤯 Why Chile’s Geography is Bizarre! 🇨🇱 Chile, the longest country that you find anywhere on Earth, over 4,200 kilometers in length which stretches all the way from San Francisco to New York. But, its average widest point is just 177 km. Chile shares land borders with Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina, and the border with Argentia is the 3rd longest border in the world. Chile sits on the most intense active fault lines in the entire world. Hence volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are quite common here. More than 80% of the country’s land area is covered with Andes Mountains from top to the southern tip of the continent. This makes really hard for trade and infrastructure projects The central part, however, is a different story, with the fertile Central Valley being a hotspot for agriculture. This region alone accounts for 70% of chile’s population and “Santiago”, the capital of Chile is the “Silicon Valley” of the South American continent. The northern part of Chile is dominated by the Atacama Desert – one of the driest places on Earth.
