The trainees at IMTC- Elementary, Bengaluru experienced the presentation of the Black Strip, a unique material in our elementary programme. It is like a complete but condensed form of presenting the first 3 great stories. A material that measures beyond 30-metres of long black cloth, with a strip of red at the very end, helps children imagine how long it took, for the universe to develop, the earth to form, life to start developing on earth and how long it took for humans, who are the last in the evolutionary cycle, to evolve.
The trainees with the feeling of being more grounded, after the presentation, expressed their realisation on how important it is to offer this to the children so that they know about our past as human race and develop a subtle sense of responsibility, towards future.

The trainees at IMTC- Elementary walked through the story of life through a rich and imaginative narrative, that unfolded the miraculous journey from the earliest single-celled organisms to the vast diversity of plant and animal life.
The story helped them grasp the essence of life from the perspective of how children would receive the story - a deep sense of wonder, curiosity, and respect for all living things. The Timeline of Life chart plays a vital role in reinforcing this experience.
As Maria Montessori beautifully expressed, “To assist a child, we must provide him with an environment which will enable him to develop freely.” Through this story, the environment becomes not just the class environment, but the entire history of life itself—opening minds to the grandeur of existence and their place within it.
