Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education encourages students from Classes IX to XII across the country to participate in Rashtriya Kavya Utsav 2026, a National Recitation Competition being organised on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) from 1st June to 31st July 2026.

Students may select a poem from the list available on the ReP platform, record a 60–90 second video of their recitation, upload it on social media using the prescribed official handles and hashtag and submit their entry through https://ndl.education.gov.in/home.

Let’s celebrate the joy of reading and recitation through this national initiative.

Parents, guardians and community stakeholders are encouraged to actively participate in School Management Committees (SMCs) and contribute to strengthening school education. SMCs serve as an important platform for collaborative decision-making, enabling communities to play a meaningful role in school development, effective resource utilisation and improved learning outcomes for every child.

SMC Guidelines 2026 will be launched on 6th May 2026, marking a significant step towards empowering these committees with stronger governance. Together, we can move closer to the vision of quality, equitable and holistic education for all, as envisioned in .
