Minchu Accessories is the result of a livelihood based research project with the economically poor women from Ramanagaram, Karnataka. It started out as a collaboration between the Indian Institute of Management Banga

lore, Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore and the Apparel Export Promotion Council, Malleshwaram – Bangalore. The first lot of products were designed by Shailee Adke, a Bangalore based designer from Srishti and produced under the guidance of Jawed, a master embroidery artisan and trainer. The members of Minchu have evolved their own designs - upcycled jewelery from waste fabric for instance - while continuing production of original designs.
