THE HOUSE OF COMMONS
India's freedom is not merely a statement of the present but a consequence of struggles from our past. The efforts of freedom fighters and Indian statesmen were fundamental to achieving independence. However, the actions of the colonial administration and the Westminster parliament played a greater role than is publicly admitted. The Prime Minister took claim for the inception of the thought and desire for self-governance among Indians and did not credit Indians for their inherent ambition. At the House of Commons, MPs will re-examine how India was granted independence and have the chance to rewrite the course of history.
