Ohara School of Ikebana Bangalore Chapter

We recently had the pleasure of inviting Ms Meenakshi Devi Katragadda, Sub Grand Master of Ohara School of Ikebana, Hyderabad, for a workshop at the picturesque Windflower Prakruthi Resorts, where participants enjoyed a unique blend of leisure and ikebana skill development.

Under the adept guidance of Professor Ms Etsuko Negishi from Japan, some members attended the workshop conducted by the Hyderabad Ikebana International Chapter, enhancing their ikebana knowledge.

The Wonders of Nature - A nature walk at Cubbon Park, conducted by Dr. Prabhakar, Professor of Environmental Science at St. Joseph's University, proved to be an informative and immersive experience, revealing nature's secrets that linger beneath ancient trees and sharing intriguing stories of the region's green heritage.

Our members recently had the privilege of attending the Masters Seminar in Hyderabad, a landmark event in India led by Ohara Headquarters. The Hyderabad Chapter was instrumental in driving the seminar's success. Under the expert guidance of Iemoto Hiroki Ohara and his team, the experience was profoundly enriching.

A visit to the award-winning garden of Ms Priya Mascarenhas - The 140 year old heritage bungalow features a sprawling ornamental and tropical fruit garden, complete with a waterfall and Japanese bridge.

Getting the fundamentals right - the theme for our monthly meeting.

Our distinguished members, Deepika Mansingh and Anasuya Parvathaneni, attended the recent World Ikebana Convention 2025 in Japan.
We had an opportunity to refine our ikebana skills through their informative demonstrations during one of our monthly meetings.

Some memorable moments from our recent annual picnic to Sri Bhoga Nandishwara temple at the foot hills of the scenic Nandi hills and beautiful Mulberry Shades resort. Great way to start the new year.

As a part of our Jade Jubilee Celebrations, we conducted a 2 day Workshop by Prof.Nishi Akihiro, at the serene Windflower Prakruthi Resort. It was attended and benefited by both Bangalore and other Chapter members alike.
The participants had an opportunity to learn and fine tune their ikebana skills.

Yet another milestone for The Bangalore Chapter of the Ohara School of Ikebana, started by our founder President - Grandmaster Ms Shyamala Ganesh, 35 years ago.
Recently we celebrated the Jade year with an exhilarating Demonstration by Nishi Akihiro Sensei, from the Coucil of Ohara Professors, Japan at the prestigious Prestige Falcon Towers, Bangalore.
