This thought followed as I was reading 'The 8th Habit' by Stephen R. Covey. While he talks about this in the context of organizational growth I wonder how true it is even in parental journey.

The Power of a Grandmother’s Love: Lessons from Sir Ratan Tata’s Life

I recently read about Ratan Tata’s passing, and while we all know him as a visionary, what touched me was a personal story from his childhood. He shared how he and his brother faced teasing due to their parents' divorce—something uncommon at the time. But amidst the emotional challenges, it was his grandmother who became their pillar of strength.

She didn’t just care for them; she taught them how to stand tall, no matter what life threw their way. Her wisdom shaped him into the compassionate, resilient leader we all admire today.

This reminds me of a story from one of my parenting sessions. A mother once shared how her little girl had been struggling with bullying at school. Despite her efforts, it wasn’t until the child spent a weekend with her grandmother that she finally opened up about her feelings. That bond—a quiet, safe space—healed her in a way no one else could.

It’s a powerful reminder of the role grandparents play in our children's lives. While we as parents focus on daily routines, academics, and activities, grandparents often focus on the heart. They offer invaluable wisdom, teaching resilience, kindness, and strength through their lived experiences.
