A parent-led initiative seeking age relaxation for UKG children who are not meeting 6 yrs age cutoff for Grade 1 admissions in Karnataka
A big announcement in the Karnataka Assembly yesterday by Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa sir. The 60 days relaxation benefits 1.5 lakhs students of current UKG batch and many more currently in nursery and LKG. A big thanks to him and all the officials in Karnataka government who made this happen 🙏🏼 We are looking forward to the long term solution mentioned by him as it will benefit several students.
Lakhs of Karnataka students face uncertainty as they are being denied admissions into grade 1 due to age cutoff inspite of completing 3 years of pre+ primary education.
Last year, the government has given one time relaxation while SEP was awaited. Given further delays in SEP, we request the same fairness to be extended to current UKG batch.
Infact kids born in June and July 2020 should ideally be taken care of through the 60 days relaxation in Karnataka education act which is also not being implemented.
Parents urge the government for action in favour of the children.

ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಮುಂದಿನ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಕೆಲವು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಅದೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ, ಅದು ಅವರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
