Having a niche is important because if you try to cater to everyone your overall message won't speak to anyone.

Speaking to a specific, low competition set of your audience leads to a better overall result. Here are our opinions on how to create a niche,

Consumers trust the good old WOM (Word of Mouth). It creates a value of trust when someone recommends your content, products or services to your consumers.

An eWOM (electronic Word of Mouth) approach is to make your content viral. We know you have gone through Berger’s STEPPS, here is an add on.

This is what you should ensure to make your content go viral :

1. Be Findable:

Make your content as per the trends. Use the correct hashtags or tags. It is advisable to keep the same profile picture or display picture across all the platforms. Keep your username as simple as possible, at the same time make it catchy.

2. Be Readable:

Use simple language to communicate your ideas. Make use of short and crisp sentences in your content. Make sure you display words for enough time for the consumers to read and understand in your video content.

3. Be Digestible - Easy on the eyes

Understand the significance of the KISS principle- Keep it short and simple. You need to attract the attention of your consumer in the first 10 sec. Use simple language, less graphics, use a catchy song or a tune in the video and offer practical solutions wherever possible.

4. Be Shareable

Place your shareable link to your content at prominent places across your platform. Check if your content is easily accessible. Upload contents in a format that can be shared through different operating systems. Most importantly, make sure you have content worth sharing.

5. Be Actionable

Your content shouldn’t be just to consume and then forget about it. Make your consumer do something productive through your content. You can share a gist of your content on a micro-platform and apply a ‘CTA’ (call to action) feature at the end. We believe in leading by example. So, here is how we take action.

What is the first thing you do when you hear about any product or service? You google them, right?

If things look ‘legit’ to you, you go ahead and explore further. You're not the only one. Research suggests that 27.5% of total retail sales this year will be made online. Though you might not be selling something online.

But, whether to be influenced by you or not, your audience will decide it based on your online presence. Here’s what you should and should not do to build your online presence:

Act on these:

1. Being Authentic

Show your audience your true self. Put forth your original ideas and opinion. Make sure to verify the information for its credibility. Your content should be only yours and nobody else.

2. Creating Content with a Specific Intention

Be clear with your aim as to what and why you want to put the content out there. Confusion in your mind will lead to confusion in the minds of the consumers. Write down your interest and what the audience is interested in. Find a common ground and create content for that particular topic of interest.

3. Experimenting and Analyzing Results

To increase your visibility and outreach, take risks and experiment with the kind of content you upload. Take that Remix Reel challenge and remix it for real. Diversify and you will reap the benefit of the risk taken.

Use analysis tools provided by the platform you are uploading the content. Use the DMAIC process. Define the problem, Measure relevant data, Analyse patterns, Improve and Control the change by deploying (A/B) testing.

Refrain from these:

1. Ignoring your audience’s comments/messages

Your audience will consume your content only if it is relatable to them. When they find relatable content, they will get a natural urge to agree or disagree with the content.

Make sure to bank on this reaction of your audience by responding to the comments and messages sent by them. This will help you in understanding what they want and you can design your content accordingly.

2. Only talking about your services/products

Your audience understands that you will utilize this engagement to promote your products or services. They will even consider these products and services if they trust you.

To build that kind of trust, make sure to give them something of value rather than the only talk about your products and services.

Consumers are easily distracted by so much content out there. Will the consumer be engaged with you even after those 15 secs of a Reel? Yes, if you have good quality content.

But just a content calendar with all the topics of your post won’t do the trick. You need to have a clear aim and build your content strategy.

60% of the most effective B2C marketers have a documented content strategy, as per CMI. Producing a variety of engaging content for consumers will be easier with a content strategy. Your content will do the marketing for you.

As a creator, you should pay attention to what is the content on your platform. Finding out if it draws consumers' attention or not. This means you need to have a Content Strategy.

Let's see what the benefits of having a content strategy are,

1. Cutting costs

As per DemandMetric, Content marketing costs 62% less than traditional marketing. With your content strategy, you can plan things ahead of time and predict the cost to broadcast this content. Thereafter, you can nick down what is not necessary and tailor your budget accordingly.

2. Plan for Actions and Reactions

Just like you predicted costs, you can also predict the reaction that you might get from the consumers to your content. You can use your problem-solving skills and keep your plan of action ready.

3. Engage your audience:

To build an ideal audience, you need to focus on creating good quality content. Engage with your audience through the content. Respond to their comments and messages. Find out what they expect from you and strategize your content.

4. Develop a community

Consumers need good quality content. Your clear content strategy will guide you to post relatable content of quality and this will make the audience come to you.

You can build their trust with your credible content. This leads to a formation of a long term relationship which will help you generate leads for your product and services later.

5. Prepare for tomorrow!

Consumers trust the good old WOM (Word of Mouth). This kind of marketing has now transformed into Content Marketing. Your consumers or followers are going to share your content with their friends and family.

78% of CMOs believe that content marketing is the future of marketing. Invest in your content strategy today and you will be prepared for it tomorrow!
