Communio Awareness Programme for CMC Sisters and Formees Held in Bhopal

A Communio Awareness Programme for the Sisters and formees of the CMC Sisters, Bhopal Province, was held on 20 September 2026 at the CMC Sisters’ Convent in the Archdiocese of Bhopal. The programme offered an opportunity to discover the vision, spirituality and missionary outreach of Communio and to reflect on the call to joyful Christian witness.

The programme began with a prayer and hymn to the Holy Spirit led by Ms Maria Purti, Communio Missionary Volunteer. The CMC Sisters warmly welcomed the Communio Team.

Sr Margarita Dias SCB, Associate Director, Communio Trainings and Programmes, conducted the awareness session. She began with an interactive icebreaker that helped the participants recognise the value and presence of one another and created an atmosphere of joy, openness and fraternity.

The session reflected on the importance of joy in religious life and in the mission of the Church. The participants were reminded that a personal encounter with Christ is at the heart of Christian life and mission. An action song further enlivened the gathering and encouraged active participation.

A major part of the session focused on the CCBI initiatives and the mission of the Catholic Church in India. The participants were introduced to the vision and activities of Communio, with particular attention to its three pillars of Prayer, Solidarity and Mission, and its efforts to support pastoral ministry, especially in rural and mission areas.

Ms Maria Purti and Ms Sonali Tirkey, Communio Missionary Volunteers, shared their personal testimonies and experiences of their journey with Communio. They spoke about how their involvement in Communio has helped them grow in faith, discover their gifts and deepen their commitment to service and the missionary calling of the Church.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr Margarita Dias SCB and the CMC Sisters. Special gratitude was expressed to Sr Pavithra, Mother Superior of the CMC Sisters, Bhopal Province, and all the Sisters for their warm welcome, generous hospitality, goodness and support in organising the programme.

The awareness session was a meaningful moment of encounter, joy and missionary animation, inspiring the CMC Sisters and formees to live their vocation with renewed enthusiasm and to become joyful witnesses of Christ in the Church and society.

The programme concluded with a fellowship dinner, providing an opportunity for the Sisters, formees and the Communio Team to share in joyful fraternity and strengthen their bonds of communion.

Communio Motivates the Youth of the Archdiocese of Bhopal to Become Witnesses of Christ

A Communio Missionary Orientation Programme for the youth of the Archdiocese of Bhopal was held on 20 September 2026 at the Pastoral Centre, Archdiocese of Bhopal. The programme was organised jointly by Communio and the Archdiocesan Youth Ministry in collaboration with Fr Francis, Diocesan Youth Director.

The programme began with a welcome by Fr Dennis Tigga, Communio Director of the Archdiocese of Bhopal, followed by the lighting of the lamp and an opening prayer.

Sr Margarita Dias SCB, Associate Director for Trainings and Programmes, expressed gratitude to Most Rev. Dr. A.A.S. Durairaj SVD, Archbishop of Bhopal, for his keen interest in and support for the Communio programme.

Sr Margarita led the sessions and reflected with the youth on the importance of life and God’s blessings. The sessions focused on the value and identity of each person, the importance of giving, and recognising youth as an age of blessing and an opportunity to make a difference. The youth were encouraged to be active young people in the Church and society and to deepen their relationship with Jesus.

The participants reflected on the Trinitarian aspect of God in our lives and the importance of encountering Jesus. The role of youth in keeping the faith alive and carrying forward the mission of Christ was also highlighted.

The youth were introduced to the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) and its initiatives, particularly Communio, its vision and mission. The topics were dealt with through various interactive sessions, ice-breakers, songs, group activities, sharing sessions and videos.

Communio Missionary Volunteers Ms Sonali Tirkey and Ms Maria Purti shared their personal experiences and journeys as Communio Missionary Volunteers. Through their testimonies, they shared how their involvement in Communio has helped them grow in faith, service and commitment to the Church.

The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr Philip, National Council Member of the Proclamation Commission.

At the conclusion of the programme, Sr Margarita thanked the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Bhopal, particularly Fr Francis, Diocesan Youth Director, for their collaboration and support in organising the orientation programme. She also appreciated the active participation and enthusiasm of the youth throughout the day.

The programme encouraged the youth of the Archdiocese of Bhopal to recognise their gifts, live their faith actively and become joyful witnesses of Christ in their families, parishes and communities.

Today, Sunday, 20/09/2026, let us prayerfully remember the Diocese of Bareilly and its Bishop, Most Rev. Ignatius D’Souza.

Let us pray that the Lord may strengthen the Bishop, priests, religious, catechists, and all the faithful of the diocese. May He bless their missionary efforts with faith, hope, unity, wisdom, and abundant fruits for the proclamation of His Word.
