*Humanity Prevails*:
*A joint effort by NGO’S helped a security from Nepal, immobile due to an accident fall, reach home safely*.
Shyamdut Bhatta- a security working in marathahalli- Bengaluru slipped and fell on a rainy day. He had severe injuries in his spine and back. His lower limbs waist down had become immobile with almost no sensation. After his initial treatment, marathahalli police admitted him at AIR Humarnitarian Homes, bennarghatta.
Neurosurgeons at NIMHANS suggested against any surgery. He stayed in AIR homes for 2 months. Dr. Madhu of AIR reached out to the Mercy Angels team and requested help to take him to Nepal. Mercy Angels Collaborated with HWA Charitable Foundation for arranging transport to Nepal.
After weighing various travel options - ambulance, train, bus and flight, it was finally decided to take him by train till New Delhi and from there an ambulance from Vision 2026 (Human Welfare Foundation, Delhi) would take him home. Two attendants would have to travel with him till Nepal to take care of his medical and other needs.
HWA raised funds for shyamdutta’s travel to his home. On 19th June, Shyamdutta was shifted in HWA ambulance to Railway station, he was carried and laid on train berth (booked on an emergency quota)
Two volunteers - Sadiq Hussain (Mercy Angels) and Y T Anjum a Traffic Warden and SOC , Hindustan Scouts and Guides offered to travel along with shamdutta.
At Hazrath Nizamuddin junction on 21st at 9 am, they were received by an ambulance sent by Mr Mohammed Arif of Vision 2026 (Human Welfare Foundation).
Before continuing the journey, in delhi, Shyam dutta was taken to Shifa hospital for a check up, change of diapers and leaking urinary bag.
Mr. Naufal, CEO Vision 2026 and Mr Nazer, Director of Al Shifa hospital were present to make it easy for the patient treatment at the hospital.
Mohammed Hayat Umar alias Guddu Ambulance driver of Shifa hospital took the three travelers along to Nepal where they reached his home at midnight .
Shyamdutt was extremely happy to be back home with his family. Shamdutta’s prayers were answered. The team who accompanied shyamdutta was extremely touched after seeing their house, they were in a very poor financial condition. Now he cant work, he has lost his job.
_Life is so unpredictable , one moment can change your whole life_
We pray that he gets back to normal condition at the earliest and he can start working, we are hoping to see him back in Bengaluru.
The Volunteers reached back on 26th June 2022 afternoon
Anjum and Sadiq both said it was a satisfying experience and when asked about how it was to take decision to take up this travel, Mr. Anjum who is a scout said our motto is "To be always Prepared".
This whole effort was made possible by the Almighty, He gave the opportunity for AIR Homes, Mercy Angels, HWA charitable foundation, Human Welfare Foundation- Delhi and the volunteers to help shamdutta reach home.
*_HWA wishes to thank all the donors who contributed to this cause_.*
