Contractors are the building blocks of any society, playing a pivotal role in the development of infrastructure. In Bandipora, some contractors have shown exceptional commitment, honesty, and dedication in delivering services, while unfortunately a few have failed to maintain the expected standards. The progress of our district itself reflects the difference between quality work and negligence.
Everyone is a witness to the implementation of the JJM scheme. There have been concerns that accessibility was often provided to influential people, while many ordinary citizens struggled to get their issues addressed. When contractors were requested to deliver services and resolve public grievances, people often faced delays and difficulties in getting responses.
At the same time, the genuine pending dues of contractors who have completed their assigned work according to norms must be released by the government without unnecessary delay. However, payments should always be made after proper verification, quality assessment, and keeping merit as the guiding principle. Public funds belong to the people and must be utilized with transparency and accountability.
Those who have worked honestly and delivered quality services deserve appreciation and encouragement, while anyone found involved in corruption, negligence, or compromising public interest must be dealt with strictly according to law. The administration of Bandipora should thoroughly examine all matters fairly and take decisions based on facts and merit. In the end, truth prevails and God is the best planner.

The increase in electricity tariffs is undoubtedly a burden on the common man, and people have every right to question it. But what is equally concerning is the silence over the relentless rise in the prices of essential commodities. Every visit to the market reminds us that cooking oil, flour, rice, pulses, salt, milk, vegetables, medicines, and other basic necessities are becoming more expensive. Unlike electricity bills, which arrive once a month, these essentials affect every family every single day.

Dropout from schools is one of the major concerns of our generation. Considering education only as a means to secure a government job is a strange paradox of our times. When students fail to see opportunities beyond a few limited professions, their interest in learning gradually declines. The true purpose of education is to develop knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, skills, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society. During my visits to some departments, including Urdu departments that once served as vibrant centres of knowledge, literature, and intellectual discussion, I found them struggling and losing their earlier glory. The unhealthy race for one profession has created pressure and imbalance in our society. We need to restore the dignity of all fields of learning and create an education system where every child finds hope, purpose, and a path towards a meaningful future.Omar AbdullahDDNewsLiveFasil AliSheikh Mohammad ImranFollowingDr Raja Muzaffar BhatTaHir MirBhat Nizam-uddinThe Political InsiderKashur TobrukNasir KhuehamiTawheed Parvaiz
