The Great Interview Adventure 😄
Today I went for an interview with full confidence. I woke up early, ironed my shirt, polished my shoes, and looked in the mirror thinking, "Yes, today is the day my career changes forever!"
As soon as I entered the interview room, my confidence was at 100%.
The interviewer smiled and asked, "Tell me about yourself."
I had practiced this question at least 50 times. But somehow, at that exact moment, my brain decided to take a vacation. I forgot everything except my name. For a few seconds, I stared at the interviewer like a computer trying to load a heavy file.
Then came the next question:
"What are your strengths?"
I proudly replied, "Hard work, dedication, and quick learning."
The interviewer nodded and asked, "Can you give an example?"
Suddenly, all my hard work, dedication, and quick learning disappeared from my memory.
A few minutes later, the interviewer asked, "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
Honestly, I just wanted to survive the next five minutes.
Then they asked, "Why should we hire you?"
Inside my mind, I was screaming, "Because I need a salary, sir!"
But professionally, I replied, "Because I can contribute to the growth of the organization."
At one point, I became so nervous that I started answering a question before the interviewer had even finished asking it. Unfortunately, I answered the wrong question.
The funniest moment came when the interviewer asked, "Do you have any questions for us?"
I wanted to ask:
What is the salary?
How many leaves do I get?
Is work-from-home possible?
How soon can I get promoted?
But instead, I politely asked, "Can you tell me more about the company's future vision?"
The interviewer looked impressed.
I looked unemployed but professional.
After the interview ended, I walked out feeling like a hero who had just completed a difficult mission. Then I started replaying every answer in my head and realized there were at least 25 better answers I could have given.
That's the special talent every interview candidate has:
We become experts only after leaving the interview room.
No matter how many interviews we attend, there is always that one moment when our brain says:
"Congratulations! All important information has been temporarily deleted." 😂
But that's okay. Interviews are not just about answering questions; they're about learning, improving, and collecting funny stories to tell later.
So to everyone preparing for interviews:
Stay confident.
Stay positive.
And remember...
If your hands are shaking, your voice is trembling, and your brain has stopped working for a few seconds, don't worry.
That's not fear.
That's just your future salary playing hide and seek with you! 😆💼
