The integral learning paradigm perceives our faculties as unique manifestations of consciousness and its activities. For example, the faculty of sight is a manifestation of comprehending the form of existence and its attributes, such as shape, substance, or structure. Defining the form relies on discernment, the ability to distinguish one aspect of existence from another, thus separating them into discernible entities, shapes, or forms. In Sanskrit, this process is termed dṛṣṭi (from dṛś, meaning "to see," derived from the root dṛ, meaning "to tear" or "to break into pieces").
Conversely, the faculty of hearing manifests the essential quality of understanding the significance of form—what it represents or is capable of being or doing, and how it relates to other entities or selves. This is termed śruti (from the root śru, meaning "to hear" or "to learn about/from"; essentially, "to know about the capacities of being"). It implies emitting light, sound, or action onto other entities, thereby interacting with them according to subjective needs. Perceiving this faculty entails understanding it; comprehending the form necessitates recognizing its inherent interactions with other entities. In simpler terms, the meaning of "tree," for instance, encompasses a set of characteristics that define its essence; otherwise, we would have a form devoid of understanding its representation.
Thus, we have two primary faculties: apprehensive cognition of form (rūpa) and comprehensive cognition of what form signifies, its essence (nāma). The former perceives, while the latter comprehends. These faculties underpin all cognitive processes across diverse domains of knowledge.
IPK Educational Network
IPK or Integral Paradigm of Knowledge is founded and managed by the University of Human Unity in Auroville India.
IPK is the concept developed by a group of researchers in Auroville from 2001. In the 2007 a new project of University of Human Unity took up this concept as its major focus and worked on its development exploring different approaches to Knowledge, conducting yearly seminars in Integral Paradigm of Knowledge and developing the website www.universityofhumanunity.org
Operating as usual
Our being must move eternally through Time;
Death helps us not, vain is the hope to cease;
A secret Will compels us to endure.
Our life’s repose is in the Infinite;
It cannot end, its end is Life supreme.
Death is a passage, not the goal of our walk:
Some ancient deep impulsion labours on:
Our souls are dragged as with a hidden leash,
Carried from birth to birth, from world to world,
Our acts prolong after the body’s fall
The old perpetual journey without pause.
No silent peak is found where Time can rest.
This was a magic stream that reached no sea.
(Savitri, Sri Aurobindo)
On Spirituality
It must therefore be emphasised that spirituality is not a high intellectuality, not idealism, not an ethical turn of mind or moral purity and austerity, not religiosity or an ardent and exalted emotional fervour, not even a compound of all these excellent things; a mental belief, creed or faith, an emotional aspiration, a regulation of conduct according to a religious or ethical formula are not spiritual achievement and experience.
These things are of considerable value to mind and life; they are of value to the spiritual evolution itself as preparatory movements disciplining, purifying or giving a suitable form to the nature; but they still belong to the mental evolution, the beginning of a spiritual realisation, experience, change is not yet there.
Spirituality is in its essence an awakening to the inner reality of our being, to a spirit, self, soul which is other than our mind, life and body, an inner aspiration to know, to feel, to be that, to enter into contact with the greater Reality beyond and pervading the universe which inhabits also our own being, to be in communion with It and union with It, and a turning, a conversion, a transformation of our whole being as a result of the aspiration, the contact, the union, a growth or waking into a new becoming or new being, a new self, a new nature.

Purusha Suktam Purusha Sukta is the most cited hymn of the Rigveda. And still it is the most mysterious in its content. In this study we look at it from the perspective of Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.

An interesting case of chicken and egg...
We 'think' the eye 'sees' images although it's the brain asking the eyes to do their work and 'see'... we 'see' with much more than just our eyes...
And 'who' asks the brain to start this action?
The brain itself is a tool to be used by the of seeing...
and this technology interpretes the resulting images in the brain and compares them to the images that were shown...
Do they time this? Which comes first?
Of course this may be too early in the research for this kind of detail but what if the eyes only confirm what the brain already knows is there? Maybe through other forms of 'vision'?
Good example of science trying to document life and always ending up a couple of steps behind...
In stead of looking at it conceptually as the Vedic linguistic and philosophical research does, giving a head start...
