International Nurses Day 2026 is celebrated globally on 12 May. This annual event honors the vital contributions of nurses to healthcare and marks the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing.

The official theme established by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) is “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” This directive addresses global health challenges by advocating for:

Safe work environments to combat nurse burnout.

Enhanced professional training and leadership development.

Fair compensation and adequate healthcare staffing resources.

Strategic workforce planning to expand nursing authority globally.

A computer device is an electronic, programmable machine that processes, stores, and manipulates data (input) into useful information (output) using a CPU. They range from desktops and laptops to smartphones and IoT devices. Examples include input devices (keyboards), output devices (monitors), and storage (hard drives).

A computer system consists of two primary, interdependent components: hardware and software. Hardware is the physical, tangible parts of a computer that you can see and touch. Software is the set of intangible instructions, programs, and data that tell the hardware exactly what to do.

Computer characteristics are the basic features that define how a computer works and what it can do. Here are the main ones explained clearly:

1. Speed

Computers can process data extremely fast—millions or even billions of instructions per second. This speed is measured in units like Hertz (Hz).

2. Accuracy

Computers perform calculations with high precision. Errors usually occur only if the input data or program is incorrect (often called “garbage in, garbage out”).

3. Diligence

Unlike humans, computers do not get tired or bored. They can perform repetitive tasks continuously without losing accuracy or efficiency.

4. Storage Capacity

Computers can store large amounts of data (files, programs, media). Storage is measured in bytes (KB, MB, GB, TB, etc.).

5. Automation

Once a program is given, a computer can perform tasks automatically without further human intervention.

6. Versatility

Computers can handle a wide variety of tasks—such as calculations, document editing, gaming, communication, and more—depending on the software used.

7. Reliability

Computers produce consistent results and can be relied upon for long-term operations if properly maintained.

8. No Intelligence (IQ)

Computers do not think or make decisions on their own. They only follow instructions given by users or programs.

9. Multitasking

Modern computers can perform multiple tasks at the same time, such as playing music while browsing the internet.

Computer generations represent major technological breakthroughs in hardware and software that have made computers smaller, faster, and more efficient over time.

The five recognized generations are:
1st (Vacuum Tubes),
2nd (Transistors),
3rd (Integrated Circuits),
4th (Microprocessors),
5th (Artificial Intelligence/AI).

26 अप्रैल 2026 को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 'मन की बात' के 133वें एपिसोड में भारत की प्रगति के लिए सौर और पवन ऊर्जा पर विशेष जोर दिया। उन्होंने वैज्ञानिक नवाचार, तकनीक, और देशवासियों की उपलब्धियों की प्रशंसा की, साथ ही आगामी गर्मियों में स्वास्थ्य के प्रति सतर्क रहने की सलाह दी।
'मन की बात' 26 अप्रैल 2026 की मुख्य बातें: अक्षय ऊर्जा पर जोर: पीएम मोदी ने सौर और पवन ऊर्जा के क्षेत्र में भारत की बढ़ती ताकत का जिक्र किया और इसे भविष्य के लिए जरूरी बताया। वैज्ञानिक और तकनीकी प्रगति: उन्होंने देश के वैज्ञानिकों और शोधकर्ताओं की सराहना की। जन संवाद: इस कार्यक्रम में देश-विदेश के लोगों की भागीदारी रही, जो सामूहिक कहानियों और सफलता का मंच बना। स्वच्छता और स्वास्थ्य: गर्मियों के मौसम को देखते हुए स्वास्थ्य संबंधी सावधानियां बरतने की सलाह दी गई।

मलेरिया बिमारी के सम्बंध में जन-मानस को जागरूक करना जरूरी - अभय कुमार सिंह
श्री भागवत प्रसाद सिंह मेमोरियल कॉलेज आफ नर्सिंग तथा जिला अस्पताल, औरंगाबाद, बिहार सरकार के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में मलेरिया जागरूकता पर आधारित एक दिवसीय कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर श्री भागवत प्रसाद सिंह मेमोरियल ग्रुप आफ कॉलेज के निदेशक अभय कुमार सिंह ने कहा कि वर्तमान समय में चिकित्सा सुविधाएं बहुत ठीक-ठाक हो गयी है। विभिन्न बिमारियों के बारे में आम जन मानस को जागरूक करना जरूरी है यह काम छात्र छात्राओं के माध्यम से आसानी से किया जा सकता है। पहले की तुलना में अब समाज में चिकित्सा शिक्षा एवं उसके प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ी है फिर भी कुछ लोग अभी जादू, टोना, टोटका, भूत, प्रेत, पिचास आदि में विश्वास करते दिखाई दे जाते हैं ऐसे लोगों के बीच विशेष जागरूकता पैदा करने की जरूरत है। यह उल्लेखनीय कि प्रतिवर्ष 25 अप्रैल को विश्व मलेरिया दिवस मनाया जाता है इस अवसर पर नर्सिंग कालेज के बीएससी नर्सिंग और जीएनएम के छात्र छात्राओं के बीच एक जागरूकता आधारित कार्यक्रम कराया गया। मलेरिया एक प्रकार का संचारी रोग है जो एनाफिलीज नामक मच्छर के काटने से मनुष्य में फैलता है तथा एक से दूसरे तथा दूसरे से तीसरे में बहुत तेज गति से फैलता है। कभी कभी इसका प्रभाव पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी भी दिखाई देता है। छात्र छात्राओं को अपने घर परिवार और पास पड़ोस के सभी लोगों को इस बिमारी के प्रति जागरूक करने का आह्वान किया गया। इस अवसर सदर अस्पताल औरंगाबाद से वीडीसीओ अरुण कुमार एवं कुमार हर्षवर्धन और बीएमडब्ल्यू जगन्नाथ ठाकुर ने छात्र-छात्राओं को संचारी रोग के सम्बन्ध में कुछ आवश्यक परामर्श प्रदान किया। श्री भागवत प्रसाद सिंह मेमोरियल कॉलेज आफ नर्सिंग की प्राचार्या डॉ. सीजी थॉमस, पंकज कुमार सोनी, ब्रजेंद्र कुमार, मोनिका साहू, नेहा कुमारी, जितेंद्र कुमार, रवि कुमार,निक्की कुमारी, कंचन, रूबी, निधि, मुक्ता, नेहा देवांगन, अंजुम, बब्लू कुमार , कुंदन कुमार, प्रियरंजन कुमार, अभिजीत कुमार, स्वीटी कुमारी, सुषमा आदि उपस्थित थे।
