INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
15th August, 2026
Every breath that I breathe,
Was loaned to me, by you,
Mother.
Every dream that my eyes saw,
You fulfilled them,
Mother.
The world might turn against me,
You would still cradle me in your warmth,
Mother.
Every morning that I would rise,
I wish to be washed by the pristine sunrays,
Of the Sun that rises in your sky,
And be lulled to sleep under the peaceful sky,
Where you rule the Moon and Stars,
Let me be born in this Country in every birth,
Let me be blessed in every birth,
Let me be your dutiful child,
O Mother, dear Mother.
The 15th of August is a date that brings to the memory of every patriotic Indian the sacrifices that so many of our predecessors made. Starting from Baji Rout, the youngest martyr of India from Odisha, who laid down his life at age 12, to General Thangal of Manipur, the oldest martyr of India, who was hanged at around the age of 80, from Matangini Hazra to Kanaklata Barua, from Khudiram Bose to Bhagat Singh, many Indians sacrificed for us to see the liberated sky of 15th August, 1947. PM-SHRI Raja G.C.M.H.S.School, Borkhola today celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The family of PM-SHRI Raja G.C.M.H.S.School, Borkhola paid homage to all who contributed to the Independence of our country in their own way, through every violent and non-violent way, or by being a part of the British administration and waging a fight through constitutional method or by the adoption of radical methods. The day began with hoisting the Tri-colour and was then filled with patriotic speeches by our respected Principal(i/c) Shri Rupak Kanti Paul, teachers, invited guests and students, dance and song performances by the students. The Under-15 boys football team who participated at the State Level Football Tournament at Morigaon were also felicitated. The day was filled with patriotism and love for our motherland. May all of us Indians be blessed with the colours of patriotism and a sense of sacrifice for our country.
