Guess what happened at Delhi Public School, Asansol? A football match, but with a twist!
Our Teachers’ Team and Students’ Team faced off in an exciting game filled with energy, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. At one point, the students were leading, then the teachers made a brilliant comeback, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

The Teachers’ Team, comprising Sudipto Sir, Prithwiraj Sir, Ajay Sir, Srayan Sir, Sekhar Sir, Abhishek Sir, Anup Sir, Rimil Hansda, Rajwansh Singh, Samir Murmu, and Prash*t Chatterjee, took on the energetic Students’ Team of Darsh Gupta, Shivam Mina, Samridh Mukherjee, Surya Sarthi, Arpan Pal, and Aarav Nimit Dubey. Initiated by our respected Principal, Mrs Vineeta Srivastava Ma’am, and efficiently refereed by Ms Anushka, with support from Mr Srayan, the match ended in a well-deserved tie, just like teachers and students who move forward together, side by side, on the journey of learning.

Freedom is the breath of life for a nation. A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people.

Delhi Public School Asansol celebrated the 80th Independence Day with pride, patriotism, and gratitude. The morning began with a spirited March Past by the four houses, setting a proud tone for the celebrations. The occasion was honoured by Chief Guest Ms Adrija Sarkhel, an accomplished footballer who has represented India at national and international levels. She inspired students, particularly young girls, to pursue football and sports with confidence and determination.

The celebration came alive with soulful renditions of My India, My Pride and vibrant performances of Viksita Bharatam, Vande Mataram, and Ghar Ghar Tiranga. Principal Mrs Vineeta Srivastava welcomed the Chief Guest and highlighted the values of courage, peace, and growth symbolised by the Tiranga, urging students to carry its spirit in their hearts and contribute to a stronger India.

The celebration concluded with a renewed sense of patriotism, unity, and gratitude, echoing the spirit of “Jai Hind!”

Aspiring to pursue a career in design, Arohi Srivastava, a proud DPSite of Class XII-B, has creatively transformed discarded playing cards into a striking fashion piece, demonstrating how sustainability and style can go hand in hand. Her creation beautifully reflects the power of imagination in giving new life to everyday materials.
“Fashion can be stylish, innovative, and environmentally friendly. What is discarded today can be transformed into a design for tomorrow,” says Arohi.
We hope that her creativity continues to inspire and that her passion for design leads her to new heights.
