With a heavy heart, MFF condoles the sad demise of Son of Dr Mohammad Yousuf, Associate Professor and Head Department of Ophthalmology GMC Anantnag. Son of Dr Mohammad Yousuf, has passed away today morning, reportedly after a sudden cardiac arrest. Exact cause of his death is still not known. It is pertinent to mention that Dr Muhammad Yousuf Dar, a resident of Srinagar, was at GMC Anantang this morning attending his duties when he recieved the sad news of demise of his beloved son.

On behalf of all the faculty members, President MFF GMC Anantnag, Dr Azia Manzoor in his condolence messag, expressed shock over this catastrophe and said that MFF stands strong with the family of deceased in this hour of grief and sorrow and prayed for the departed soul and his whole family.

MFF Condoles the tragic death of Dr Shalender Paul Singh Bali, Faculty member GMC Anantnag

With profound grief and sorrow, Medical Faculty Forum GMC Anantnag regrets to inform that Dr Shalender Paul Singh Bali, Assistant Professor SPM/ epidemiologist Govt. Medical College Anantnag left for his heavenly abode on 31 October 2024. MFF GMC Anantnag on behalf of all the faculty members of GMC Anantnag condoles the tragic death.

This sad news of passing away of Dr Shalender was shared in the college official group by HOD dentistry GMC Anantnag Dr Sanjeet Singh Risam. Dr Shalender, a thorough gentleman, has been working as Assistant Professor / Epidemiologist in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine GMC Anantnag. The exact cause and circumstances of the death are still not know.

Once the news that Dr Shalender has expired was shared in the college official group, every one was shell shocked and no one could believe his eyes or ears. During the university inspection Dr Shalender was present and was sound and healthy as reported by many faculty members.

MFF GMC Anantnag condemns the brutal act of barbarism at R.G Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata

Medical Faculty forum GMC Anantnag led by its President Dr Azia Manzoor called an emergency meeting this evening to show solidarity with the victim of 9 August 2024 who was brutally murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.

MFF GMC Anantnag condemns the brutal act of barbarism and is in solidarity with the whole medical fraternity to support the family of the victim to get justice and also to get strict laws enacted by the government to stop acts of violence against doctors and other health care workers.

Medical faculty forum GMC Anantnag is in solidarity with IMA and other bodies of medicos of the country to condemn the act and pressurise the appropriate quarters to assure the safety of health care workers at their works places and else where at all costs.

MFF GMC Anantang requests all the faculty members of government Medical College Anantnag to stand strong in this testing time and fight for their genuine rights through all acceptable means but at the same time not to deny the patients the right to get treated when they are in need of treatment and essential medical care.

Medical Faculty Forum GMC Anantnag on behalf of all the faculty members of the college welcomes Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb for joining as new principal Govt. Medical College Anantnag. The deligation of the forum was led by MFF president Dr Azia Manzoor. The other members of the deligation were MFF General Secretary Dr. Sanjeet Singh Risam, Joint secretary Dr. Mansoor Gash, Treasurer Dr. Shoab and Women Representative Dr. Mahbooba Rasool. MMF Ex President Dr. Nazir Wani was also with the deligation to welcome the new Principal.

Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb who has been working as a Professor at prestigious GMC Srinagar is one of the leading specialists in anesthesiology and critical care in the country. Dr Rukhsana Najeeb is known for her dynamism and leadership qualities and has revolutionised anesthesiology and critical care at GMC Srinagar during her tenure.

MFF GMC Anantnag gives a warm farewell to the outgoing Principal Prof. Dr. Anjum Farhana

In an extraordinary and grand function at GMC Anatnag main campus Dialgam, Medical Faculty Forum on behalf of faculty members of GMC Anantnag gave a warm farewell to outgoing Principal and Dean Prof. Dr. Anjum Farhana. The function was attended by the majority of the heads of the various departments, faculty members, the Desk officers and other staff.

The proceedings of the function were carried out by Dr Showkat Hussain Tali, Spokesperson MFF GMC Anantnag. During the function extraordinary contribution of outgoing principal was highlighted and her professionalism was praised by one and all. An invaluable painting as a memory gift was handed over to the dignitary as a token of love and respect in addition to the traditional ritual of Shalpooshi

President MMF GMCA, Dr Azia Manzoor lead the MFF team during the function. The function was attended by all other executive members of MFF including Vice President Dr. Malik Shakir Hussain, General Secretary Dr. Sanjeet Singh Risam, Joint secretary Dr Mansoor Gash, treasurer Dr Shoab and Women representative Dr. Mahbooba Rasool. The MFF ex-president Dr Nazir Ahmad Wani and other executive members of previous MMF were also present in the function. Many senior Professors including Dr Mumtaz Ud Din were also present at the function to grace the occasion.

The chief guest of the function, Professor Anjum Farhana addressed the gathering on an emotional note and thanked all the faculty members and the staff for their support, guidance, love and respect.

The Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, J&K organized a noteworthy medical camp as a part of its Family Adoption Program. MFF also condoles the sad demise of the beloved mother of Dr Nasreen Jan, Assistant Professor department of Pharmacology GMC Anantnag. President MFF GMCA Dr. Azia Manzoor, who is also the I/C Head department of forensic medicine, on behalf of the whole Medical Faculty Forum prayed for the departed souls. Dr Rayees Ahmad from GMC Anantang receives "FOTI President appreciation award" at AIIMS New Delhi

In a significant development, Dr Rayees Ahmad from GMC Anantnag recieves " FOTI President appreciation award" at R. P. centre for ophthalmic sciences AIIMS New Delhi. Dr Rayees who is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology GMC Anantnag was invited to recieve the award at 7th National assembly of FOTI 2024. The meeting was held on 6th and 7th of January 2024 at AIIMS New Delhi.

"In view of your outstanding teaching experience and contribution to medical education it is an honour to award you FOTI President award at the meeting", the communique reads. FOTI is "Forum of Ophthalmology teachers of India" and this year's meeting involved scientific deliberations by ophthalmology teachers all over the country.

GMC Anantnag official WhatsApp group was flooded with congratulatory messages for Dr Rayees Ahmad after the news broke out. Dr Rayees specifically thanked principal GMC Anantang Prof. Dr Anjum Farhana for her unwavering support throughout. He also thanked all the senior faculty members and colleagues for the appreciation and love they showed upon him at this moment of joy and honour for the whole GMC Anantnag and it's associated hospitals.

PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra opened at RHTC Sagam

In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, a Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadi Kendra has been inaugurated at the Rural Health Training Center (RHTC) Sagam. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the collaborative efforts of Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof Dr. Anjum Farhana, the Head of Department of Community Medicine Dr Fouzia Nazir, Incharge RHTC Sagam and the Cooperative Society of Sagam.

This initiative aims to provide affordable and high-quality generic medicines to the residents of Sagam and its surrounding areas. Every soul shall taste the death. And no one is immune to this ultimate reality. Having said that, it is still too painful to share the news that many of our dedicated faculty members have lost their dear ones over the past few weeks.Though the loss is irreparable and nothing can compensate for it, the pain can be shared to lessen the burden of the families in distress and agony .

As desired by the medical faculty forum GMCA and after the consent from Worthy principal GMC Anantang, a condolence meet is scheduled to be held in the conference hall MMABM hospital GMC Anantnag on coming Friday at 2.30 pm. All the faculty members/ consultant are expected to be present at the venue on scheduled time and date to pay homage to the departed ones and show solidarity with their families and the dear ones .

Dr Tajali Nazir shoura, the son of the departed soul and an Assistant Professor Department of SPM, is one of the most dedicated and talented faculty members of GMC Anantnag.
