Why are Libertarians against any kind of foreign intervention in Ukraine? 24/02/2022

As tensions rise between Ukraine and Russia, it can be easy to fall into the trap of picking sides. But there is no good side of war, and no good justification for it.

War, in all its forms, is wrong. Even so-called “justified” wars have had horrific unintended consequences.

With cameo appearances from Edwin Starr and George Carlin, this video lays out the Libertarian position on war in general, and Ukraine specifically.

We spoke to Students For Liberty alum and CEO of the Ukrainian Institute for Economic Leadership Mykhailo Lavrovskyi about Vladimir Putin, the Revolution of Dignity, and what Ukrainian sovereignty should look like.

Mykhailo was adamant: Ukraine doesn’t want American or NATO troops meddling in its affairs. And he left us with a profound point: that the “end product of all of this is just to create chaos everywhere, to divide people.”

Sing it again: War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.

Students For Liberty joins the international community in supporting Ukrainian political and territorial sovereignty.

The latest violations form part of a pattern of aggression that we’ve repeatedly seen from Russia in the past, whether in Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, or other parts of Ukraine.

Ukraine asks for nothing other than to be allowed to live in peace, as every sovereign country has a right to do.

We express our support for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

We are excited to announce our first Essay Writing Competition for 2017!!

Topic - "Freebies - How Productive Are They?"

Freebies are the handouts made accessible by a government to its citizens. You know, the stuff about which people think - "Hey! The government should provide this/that for free!!" or the things which political parties often promise during the election period.

But, is this really a healthy practice for our economies? Where does the money for all the existing 'freebies' in your country comes from? Are there any resources being wasted for or on freebies? AND are freebies actually beneficial at all?

Hurry and share your thoughts in 1500-2000 words with us.
