Jahaz Mahal is one of the most iconic monuments of Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, built during the 15th century under Sultan Ghiyas-ud-din Khilji.
It gets its name from its striking form—a long, narrow palace standing between two lakes, resembling a ship floating on water. 🚢
✨ Why it is fascinating
Built between Munja Talao and Sagar Talao
Designed as a pleasure palace and royal retreat
Famous for its water architecture, terraces, pavilions and courtyards
A beautiful example of how architecture and landscape were integrated Particularly stunning during the monsoon, when the surrounding water transforms its appearance
