शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास के मैदान
■पम्पास :–अर्जेंटीना एवं उरुग्वे में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान। यहाँ पोषणयुक्त 'अल्फा-अल्फा' घास अधिक पायी जाती है।

■प्रेयरीज :–कनडा एवं सं.रा. अमेरिका में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान। इन मैदानों में 'चिनूक' हवाएं चलती हैं। यहाँ व्यापक स्तर पर गेहूं की खेती की जाती है।

■डाउन्स :–ऑस्ट्रेलिया के मरें-डार्लिंग बेसिन में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास के मैदान। मरीनो भेड के बड़े-बड़े बाडे (स्टेशन) पाये जाते हैं। कंगारु बहुतायत में पाये जाते हैं।

■वेल्ड :–द. अफ्रीका में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान। यहाँ गाय एवं भैंस के साथ 'अंगोरा बकरी' एवं 'मेरीनो भेड' का पालन किया जाता है।

■स्टेपीज :–यह यूरोप-एशिया में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान है। यहाँ गेहूं की खेती बड़े पैमाने पर की जाती है।

■पुस्टाज :–हंगरी में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान।

■कैन्टरबरी :– न्यूजीलैंड में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान।

■ग्रानचाको :– अर्जेंटीना एवं पराग्वे में विस्तृत शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय घास का मैदान एवं वन प्रदेश। यहाँ विश्व की सर्वाधिक मजबूत लकडी 'क्वेब्रेको' पायी जाती है।

🟥उष्ण कटिबंधीय घास के मैदान

■सवाना :– यह उष्णकटिबंधीय घास का मैदान मृध्य अफ्रीका, सहारा रेगिस्तान के दक्षिणी भाग में विस्तृत है। यहाँ उष्णकटिबंधीय सवाना प्रकार की घास पायी जाती है।

■लानोस :–यह उष्णकटिबंधीय घास का मैदान वेनेजुएला में विस्तृत है। यह विशेष रूप से ओरिनिको नदी के बेसिन में विस्तृत है।

■काम्पोस :–यह उष्णकटिबंधीय घास का मैदान ब्राजील के दक्षिणी भाग में विस्तृत है।

■सेल्वास :—यह ब्राजील में अमेजन नदी बेसिन में विस्तृत विश्व का सबसे बड़ा उष्णकटिबंधीय सदाबहार वन एवं घास का मैदान है। यह जैव विविधता की दृष्टि से धनी क्षेत्र है।
