During the morning assembly, Worthy Principal Ma’am congratulated all staff members and students on the successful launch of the first-ever school magazine, “Shouryadeep.” She appreciated the collective efforts of everyone associated with this remarkable achievement and encouraged students to actively contribute articles, poems, stories, and other creative writings for the next edition of Shouryadeep. Ma’am also expressed her sincere gratitude to the Worthy Director School Education and the Chief Education Officer, Jammu, for sparing their valuable time and gracing the launch ceremony of the school magazine. She motivated the students to continue showcasing their talent and creativity through such literary platforms.

Report on Cluster Schools Meeting (Government & Private)

A meeting of the Cluster Schools (Government and Private) was convened on 04 June 2026 at GBHSS Akhnoor under the chairpersonship of Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji, Principal, GBHSS Akhnoor and Head of Cluster Schools. The meeting was attended by the Heads of Institutions and representatives of various Government and Private Schools falling within the cluster.

The meeting was organized with the objective of reviewing academic and administrative matters, ensuring effective implementation of departmental guidelines, and promoting the holistic development and well-being of students. During the deliberations, several important issues concerning school functioning, student welfare, and academic excellence were discussed in detail.

The Chairperson emphasized the importance of maintaining administrative efficiency and directed all employees to remain available during the summer vacation period with their mobile phones accessible for official communication. Schools were instructed to strictly comply with all Government orders, departmental schemes, guidelines, and timelines issued from time to time.

Academic concerns formed a major part of the discussion. Heads of Institutions were advised to regularly monitor teachers’ diaries and academic records to ensure accountability and quality teaching. Schools were encouraged to assign meaningful holiday homework that promotes creativity, learning, and skill development among students. The effective use of technology, online educational platforms, and digital learning resources was also stressed to enrich the teaching-learning process during vacations.

Special attention was given to the overall personality development of students. Schools were directed to promote reading habits through newspapers, storybooks, comics, and other age-appropriate literature. Students should be encouraged to participate in skill-based, creative, productive, and cleanliness-related activities. The importance of yoga and meditation for physical and mental well-being was highlighted, along with efforts to improve students’ communication and public speaking skills. Schools were also advised to provide opportunities for every child to participate in co-curricular activities and showcase their talents.

The meeting emphasized strengthening parent-teacher communication to address academic and behavioural concerns effectively. Awareness programmes on Nasha Mukti (Drug Abuse Prevention), moral values, and spiritual education were recommended to nurture responsible, disciplined, and socially aware citizens. Summer camps, where organized, should focus on identifying and nurturing students’ talents and leadership qualities.

Student safety and welfare remained a key concern during the meeting. Schools were directed to ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment, particularly for girl students. Strict adherence to No-Smoking Zone regulations was reiterated, and corporal punishment was declared strictly prohibited in all schools. Institutions were instructed to disperse students on time after school hours to ensure their safety and productive use of leisure time.

Administrative matters such as timely completion of UDISE records, submission of NOCs and departmental documents, and compliance with official procedures were also discussed. Teachers were reminded not to leave the station without prior permission from the Head of Institution and to keep their whereabouts known during official duties. The possibility of conducting meetings and official communications through digital platforms, including Google Meet, was also highlighted.

Furthermore, schools were instructed to conduct Unit Tests and Parent-Teacher Meetings as per the academic calendar and departmental guidelines. Educational tours, picnics, and excursions should be organized only after obtaining the necessary permissions and ensuring all safety measures. Remedial classes for slow learners should be reflected appropriately in the school timetable, and schools were encouraged to actively promote sports and co-curricular activities.

The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the Chair. In her concluding remarks, Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji appreciated the active participation, cooperation, and valuable suggestions offered by the Heads of Institutions and representatives of both Government and Private Schools. All participants reaffirmed their commitment towards maintaining academic excellence, ensuring student safety and discipline, and fostering the holistic development of learners across the cluster schools.

*Launch of School Magazine “Shauryadeep”*
The *first-ever school magazine “Shauryadeep”* of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Akhnoor was formally launched on 03 June 2026 at the office chamber of Director school Education jammu Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS. The event marked a historic milestone in the journey of the institution and reflected the collective efforts of the school administration, staff, and students.
The magazine was officially unveiled by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS, Director School Education Jammu, in the esteemed presence of PO director school Education Manish (JKAS), Joint Director Secondary education Mushtaq Ahmed, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Jammu Sh. Ajeet Sharma, worthy Principal GBHSS Akhnoor, Smt. Manmeet Bali, staff members of GBHSS Akhnoor and officials from the Directorate of School Education Jammu were also present on the occasion.
Speaking during the launch ceremony, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary congratulated the Principal, staff, and students of GBHSS Akhnoor for successfully bringing out the institution's first-ever magazine. He appreciated the hard work and dedication behind the publication and expressed hope that “Shauryadeep” would become a source of inspiration for students, helping to inculcate values, creativity, discipline, and qualities that contribute towards making responsible citizens and creating a better society.

Under the esteemed guidance of Worthy Principal Madam Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji and under the supervision of Smt. Prabhjot Bajal, a Special Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) was organised at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor, during school hours under the ongoing 100 Days Campaign of NMBA (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan).
The PTM was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among parents and students regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society. During the programme, talented students confidently presented thoughtful speeches and meaningful poems highlighting the significance of a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
Parents and teachers actively participated in the programme and shared their views on the vital role of family, school, and society in guiding children towards positive values and responsible behaviour. REPORT ON SPECIAL PTM UNDER “NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN”

Under the able guidance and worthy supervision of Principal Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji, a Special Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) was successfully organized at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor on 23rd May 2026 on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”.
The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among parents, teachers, and students regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of society in building a drug-free nation. A large number of parents attended the meeting and actively participated in the interaction.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome of the parents and participants. The significance of “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” was highlighted, emphasizing the growing need to protect youth from the menace of substance abuse. Parents were sensitized about the physical, mental, social, and academic consequences of drug addiction among adolescents.
During the PTM, teachers interacted with parents regarding the behaviour, attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being of students. Special emphasis was laid on the role of parents in maintaining regular communication with their children, monitoring their activities, and promoting healthy habits and positive values at home.
The worthy Principal Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of joint efforts by parents, teachers, and society in safeguarding students from the dangers of drug addiction. She urged parents to remain vigilant, supportive, and actively involved in the upbringing of their children.
