A meeting of the Cluster Schools (Government and Private) was convened on 04 June 2026 at GBHSS Akhnoor under the chairpersonship of Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji, Principal, GBHSS Akhnoor and Head of Cluster Schools. The meeting was attended by the Heads of Institutions and representatives of various Government and Private Schools falling within the cluster.
The meeting was organized with the objective of reviewing academic and administrative matters, ensuring effective implementation of departmental guidelines, and promoting the holistic development and well-being of students. During the deliberations, several important issues concerning school functioning, student welfare, and academic excellence were discussed in detail.
The Chairperson emphasized the importance of maintaining administrative efficiency and directed all employees to remain available during the summer vacation period with their mobile phones accessible for official communication. Schools were instructed to strictly comply with all Government orders, departmental schemes, guidelines, and timelines issued from time to time.
Academic concerns formed a major part of the discussion. Heads of Institutions were advised to regularly monitor teachers’ diaries and academic records to ensure accountability and quality teaching. Schools were encouraged to assign meaningful holiday homework that promotes creativity, learning, and skill development among students. The effective use of technology, online educational platforms, and digital learning resources was also stressed to enrich the teaching-learning process during vacations.
Special attention was given to the overall personality development of students. Schools were directed to promote reading habits through newspapers, storybooks, comics, and other age-appropriate literature. Students should be encouraged to participate in skill-based, creative, productive, and cleanliness-related activities. The importance of yoga and meditation for physical and mental well-being was highlighted, along with efforts to improve students’ communication and public speaking skills. Schools were also advised to provide opportunities for every child to participate in co-curricular activities and showcase their talents.
The meeting emphasized strengthening parent-teacher communication to address academic and behavioural concerns effectively. Awareness programmes on Nasha Mukti (Drug Abuse Prevention), moral values, and spiritual education were recommended to nurture responsible, disciplined, and socially aware citizens. Summer camps, where organized, should focus on identifying and nurturing students’ talents and leadership qualities.
Student safety and welfare remained a key concern during the meeting. Schools were directed to ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment, particularly for girl students. Strict adherence to No-Smoking Zone regulations was reiterated, and corporal punishment was declared strictly prohibited in all schools. Institutions were instructed to disperse students on time after school hours to ensure their safety and productive use of leisure time.
Administrative matters such as timely completion of UDISE records, submission of NOCs and departmental documents, and compliance with official procedures were also discussed. Teachers were reminded not to leave the station without prior permission from the Head of Institution and to keep their whereabouts known during official duties. The possibility of conducting meetings and official communications through digital platforms, including Google Meet, was also highlighted.
Furthermore, schools were instructed to conduct Unit Tests and Parent-Teacher Meetings as per the academic calendar and departmental guidelines. Educational tours, picnics, and excursions should be organized only after obtaining the necessary permissions and ensuring all safety measures. Remedial classes for slow learners should be reflected appropriately in the school timetable, and schools were encouraged to actively promote sports and co-curricular activities.
The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the Chair. In her concluding remarks, Smt. Manmeet Bali Ji appreciated the active participation, cooperation, and valuable suggestions offered by the Heads of Institutions and representatives of both Government and Private Schools. All participants reaffirmed their commitment towards maintaining academic excellence, ensuring student safety and discipline, and fostering the holistic development of learners across the cluster schools.
