Zo/zou means hill, finished, victorious. But we means hill peoples. Then the hill peoples is Zomi.
Only zo/zou is meaningless for a community group. The wikipedia accept it is zo people, not zo or zou. But the zo people is not original noun, it is not a word. The originally name or explicit name are ZOMI.
Some of the ethnics chin/kuki/mizo/zofa are also says to have zomi. The zomi peoples spread in the international boundary of india, burma and Bangladesh. They spoken various languages but they know themselves they are hill people of Zomi. But they called themselves with suitable name to each country. There is no problem of various differences name of zomi.
