The SIF 2018 event concluded with a Valediction ceremony which was graced by the presence of Dr. R. K. Parashar, Professor, NCERT, Govt of India; Shri Girish Maheshwari, Chairman, Finar Foundation; Shri B. S. Bhatia, Former Director, DECU-ISRO, Shri Vijay Bhaskar, CSR Specialist, Vestas Wind Technology India; Dr. Riddhi Shukla, Director, Aarogyam Hospital and Shri Dilip Surkar, Director, VASCSC. The dignitaries had several encouraging words for the children. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of the competitions.

The tempo of Science is Fun reached a crescendo on the third and final day of ‘Science is Fun 2018’. This unique event is supported by Vestas Wind Technology India. The string of inter-school competitions conducted today were Science Fair, Science Elocution and the heart-warming Little Scientist – Fancy Dress competition. Science Show and Kids Zone workshop received good participation fro young children. In addition, Mathematics Exhibition, Science Fair, Science Photography, Science Painting, Kabaad se Jugaad, Origami, Pottery, Art with Science, which was enjoyed by all visitors.

Over its 3 days, the event received a participation of students from over 200 schools, and 9000 visitors.

Day 2 of Science is Fun was even more fun! The highlight of the day was Popular Science Talk by Dr. Tapan Misra, Distinguished Scientist & Director, SAC-ISRO on ‘An Overview of Indian Space Research and Relevant Achievement’.The Talk received full house and curious questions. Science Fiction, Science Quiz, Science Photography, Science Skit competitions were conducted. Model Rocketry Workshop, Science Storytelling workshop, Kids Zone gave students a hands-on exposure. In addition, Science Fair, Mathematics exhibition, Science Photography, Science Painting, Origami, Pottery, Art with Science, Energy Bus and several other exhibitions were open for all. Astronight programme had children staying back to observe the night sky through telescope. Over 80+ schools an 3000 participants enjoyed the event.

On Day 1 of SIF 2018 (22 Jan 2018), VASCSC was abuzz with Science-based inter-school competitions, hands-on workshops, popular talk, shows, exhibitions and many more stimulating activities, to nurture the curiosity of students in Science and Mathematics, with fun. Numerous parallel activities were organized, offering something for each visitor to engage in and learn while having fun. Popular Science Talk by Padma Shri Kartikeya V. Sarabhai on 'Save Energy, Save the Future' was enjoyed by one and all. Competitions such as Kabad se Jugaad (Wealth out of Waste), Science Painting, Science Quiz (Round 1) and Science Fair were conducted. Science Storytelling Workshop, Model Rocketry Workshop, Science Shows and Interactive Science Spaces gave hands-on exposure to participants. Mathematics Exhibition, Science Photography exhibition, Science games and puzzles remained open for all. Several agencies showcased their innovative work. On Day 1, students from around 100 schools and 4000+ visitors were received.

The ‘Science is Fun 2018’ event started on an exciting note. This unique event is supported by Vestas Wind Technology India. The Science is Fun stayed true to its objective as action-packed mega science event, organized to make children experience the lighter side of Science. The event was inaugurated by Shri Madhava Krishna Pokala, Vice President & Head of Factory, Vestas Wind Technology India; Padma Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Founder & Director, Centre for Environment Education; Shri Atul Pandya, Director, Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram; Shri B. S. Bhatia, Former Director, DECU-ISRO; Shri Vijay Bhaskar, CSR Specialist, Vestas Wind Technology India and Shri Dilip Surkar, Director, VASCSC. The venue was packed with audience comprising young children, teachers and others who were brimming with excitement.
