The Echo of Freedom

P. D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College, Ahmedabad, proudly presented a vibrant stage performance programme titled “The Echo of Freedom” to celebrate the spirit of India's Independence Day on 14th August, 2026.

The programme aimed to inculcate patriotism, celebrate India's rich cultural diversity, and provide students with a creative platform to showcase their talents.

The celebration featured a variety of inspiring performances, including:

80th Independence Day Celebration | Flag Hoisting Ceremony

P. D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College, Ahmedabad, celebrated the 80th Independence Day today, 15th August 2026, with immense patriotic spirit, pride and enthusiasm. The event was held in association with various institutions under the Meghdoot Education Trust, Ahmedabad.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Hiren Pandya Sir, Managing Trustee, Meghdoot Education Trust, followed by the National Anthem, marking the occasion with a strong sense of patriotism and national pride.

The atmosphere was filled with a deep sense of loyalty, unity and pride in our nation. The celebration beautifully reflected the values of freedom, responsibility and togetherness that define the spirit of India.

As part of the 80th Independence Day Celebration, the Activity Club of P. D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College, Ahmedabad successfully organized an Essay Writing Competition and Quiz Competition on 12th August, 2026 to encourage creativity, knowledge and patriotic spirit among students.

Free Government Exam Coaching Initiative@PDPMCC

P. D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College signed an MoU with Sankalp Career Academy and organized an Orientation Seminar on 5th August, 2026 to create awareness about the Free Government Competitive Examination Coaching Programme. The coaching programme will be conducted at the PDPMCC campus for four months, commencing from 17th August, 2026.

The resource persons from Sankalp Career Academy provided students with valuable information about various government competitive examinations and the career opportunities available in the government sector. To support their preparation, study kits were distributed to the participating students.

🌼 Guru Purnima Celebration-2026 🌼

The Activity Club and NSS Department of P. D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College, Ahmedabad, successfully celebrated Guru Purnima on 29th July, 2026, with great enthusiasm and reverence.

On this auspicious occasion, we were privileged to have Dr. Darshana Bhatt, Senior Professor of English, Department of English, Gujarat University, as the Guest Speaker. She delivered an enlightening lecture on “The Glory of the Guru in Indian Tradition”, highlighting the timeless importance of the Guru in shaping knowledge, values and character.

To mark the occasion, an Elocution Competition was also organized to help students understand and appreciate the significance of Guru Purnima. The competition provided a platform for students to express their thoughts on the importance of the Guru and contributed to a deeper understanding of the rich Guru–Shishya Parampara in India.

The programme inspired students to appreciate the sacred Guru–Shishya tradition and to express gratitude towards their teachers and mentors.
