🌍From Awareness to Action: TIUT Observes World Environment Day with Tree Plantation, Interactive Session, Club Launches & Eco-Quiz 🌱
As part of its observance of World Environment Day 2025, Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) organized an engaging and impactful Awareness Program on campus. The event aligned with this year’s global theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution,” and featured a series of activities that reflected the university’s ongoing commitment to sustainability under the guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Satyam Roychowdhury.
A major highlight of the day was a Tree Plantation Drive, during which over 50 saplings were planted across the university campus. Led by the Department of Agriculture, TIUT, the initiative saw active participation from students, faculty, staff, and invited guests, reinforcing TIUT’s enduring commitment to ecological restoration and green campus practices.
The session was chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, alongside special guests from the Tripura Forest Department, including Shri Rabindra Kumar Samal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. Tapajyoti Debbarma, TFS, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDFO, Sadar), Smt. Anima Das, TFS, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Tripura Biodiversity Board, who were welcomed formally by Prof. Dilip Sarkar, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Faculty, staff, and students from various departments also participated.
