Today is day #9 of quarantine for the Lenks. We are all well and insanely blessed. Most of Israel is hunkered down and hoping for a time that Israel can get back to being innovation nation and welcoming friends from Africa and around the world to the Holy Land. In the meantime, Israel will certainly pass today 1000 people found to have the coronavirus. And that number will keep jumping for awhile.
An effort to buy more ventilators and support the needs of our neighbors who are in need is being led by . I have started a team to encourage donations to help them in their vital work.

My wife, Ruth, recently started a new page, The Creative Adult, to highlight her diverse artistic creativity. Some of her work, like this unique quilt, called "African Queens" has a significant South African influence, including shweshwe fabric and beaded accents. You might be interested to follow her page and craft work.

Shalom from Jerusalem. Please follow the new page of Ambassador Lior Keinan, Israel's new Ambassador. And watch the cool video about him and his family.

Sending great karma and wishes for success to my friend Lior Keinan, Israel's Ambassador Designate to South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. Ambassador Keinan arrived in South Africa this morning. Please make him feel welcome. His success will be good news for Israelis and South Africans.

Israeli Ambassador Arthur Lenk heads home 27/07/2017

Greetings from summery 33 degree Israel. Thought I would share this "last" interview with the South African Jewish Report. "Relentless optimism" - sounds just about right.

Israeli Ambassador Arthur Lenk heads home Before he finally boarded his El Al flight back to Jerusalem, the Jewish Report subjected him to a frank exit interview. Here are his parting thoughts.

"Let it be known to the king that the Jews who went up from you have arrived in Jerusalem".
Ezra 4:12

Thank you South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. Thank you Africa. You are forever in my heart. Our paths will cross again, without question.

Peace. Coexistence. Blessings.

What time is it? Its Question Time.
I appeared with Mpho Tsedu on SABC News five times. If you have far too much time to spare, here are links to all five and see how many times Mpho asked me certain questions and how the set changed while the great, warm handshake at the end never did:

Tweeting for #IsraelUnderFire | Daily Maverick 22/07/2017

During the 2014 Gaza War, the Israel in South Africa team stood to proudly speak out to tell Israel's story on TV, radio, newspapers and social media. This article, one of my favorites, tells how I worked on twitter. I will finish my time here with well over 16,000 twitter followers. Mostly friends but some others, too.

Tweeting for #IsraelUnderFire | Daily Maverick After nearly a year here in South Africa, it has become abundantly clear to me that for a certain constituency, the Israel-Palestinian topic is very much a hot button issue, with a unique local flavour. Whether it is my Jewish brothers and sisters, the country’s Muslim minority, some politicians or…

Africa and Israel's roots are long-standing and ought to bear fruit for both 22/07/2017

This is my favorite article of my four years in South Africa. Partly because it told the exciting story of Israel and Africa. And partly because it "forced" the Mail & Guardian to print positive words about Israel. Never before and never since. And the photo (they picked it), by Menahem Kahana is astoundingly beautiful.

I wrote this article with an Israeli audience in mind after presenting my credentials to President Zuma in October 2013 but still get asked here about my strange gift of a basket of veggies.
