This week, volunteers stepped into communities across Israel for hands-on projects, meaningful conversations, and time spent together. From supporting schools and community spaces to connecting with seniors, every day offered a new way to show up and make a difference.

Haifa | Nirim School
A Russian-speaking group of parents of lone soldiers transformed three outdoor areas at Nirim School ahead of the new school year, bringing care and energy to a school they may never otherwise have connected with.
Rishon LeZion | Ramat Eliyahu
21 mother-daughter volunteers spent the day with seniors creating Shanah Tovah cards, which will be exchanged with a partner group in San Francisco, connecting generations and communities.
Be’er Sheva | Sigalit Community Center
A Birthright group worked in the community garden and painted a mural at the Sigalit Community Center, giving the space a fresh new look.
Haifa | Yodfat Community Center
A Taglit group from Brazil took part in an honest conversation about the experiences of Arab citizens in Israel, leading to deeper understanding and connection. The group also reflected on hope and the importance of nurturing the next generation.
Haifa | OLEI Community Center
Olim Shalav alumni returned to OLEI following an initial project with a Taglit group from Argentina, giving the center a makeover and creating a welcoming hub for Latin Olim. Final touch-ups are underway, with Café Ivrit and movie nights already in the works

Introducing the Facilitator's Toolbox.
Created in partnership with Repair the World, this new resource is designed to help educators and facilitators create meaningful Jewish service learning experiences.
The toolbox brings together opening reflections, issue area education, Jewish learning, and closing reflections to help volunteers connect their service to larger questions about community, responsibility, and social change.
Drawing on the combined experience of Yahel Israel and Repair the World, the Facilitator's Toolbox supports leaders in creating service experiences that are thoughtful, engaging, and rooted in relationship-building and learning.
Service is about what we do, but it’s also about what we learn, who we meet, and how we grow.

ELEM Shelter Cleanup
18 Young Judaea volunteers joined Central Hub for an SLD day at ELEM’s shelter in South Tel Aviv, a safe space for youth in vulnerable situations. The volunteers renovated and painted the shelter’s garden and refreshed areas of the space that needed renewal.
Ruca’s Farm
Central Hub hosted a Tailor-Made group of differently abled volunteers at Ruca’s Farm, a therapeutic agricultural farm supporting veterans living with PTSD. The volunteers worked in the fields, harvesting produce, and heard the personal story of one of the soldiers connected to the farm.
Nirim School English Fair
North Hub welcomed a Tailor-Made Haredi group from New York for an SLD day at Nirim School in Haifa. After arriving in Israel, the group started with an activity fair with the students before helping clean and organize the school in the Neve David neighborhood
