Whats it like for you to do something for the first time? Is it thrilling, scary for you? For me its usually both. But I figure, its important to take risks, to do the things that are in our hearts, dreams we are put here to manifest, or else we may feel like we have not fulfilled our full potential. This is one for me.
On Saturday I'm starting a nine month pilot kiirtan course (one Sunday afternoon a month) so nine sessions, to co-create together a complete kiirtan performance with a group of people who resonate with this idea. I will share my research discoveries on a deeper level, about Rarh kiirtan deemed "outstanding and unparalelled" by P.R.Sarkar.
This course is a first, and it will be an exploration, a collaboration, to recreate the ecstatic performance of Rarhi kiirtan. Already on my team I have Gunatita Ji singing, teachers Kavita Neumannova teaching the khol drum, Latika Montemurri on kartal, Jantien Vandenberg on harmonium (TBC) and some wonderful singers, dancers, kartal players who came on the Rarh tour in November including Jiivan Jack McCarthy, Caitríona Mullins, Ger Carrick. Some of them will be coming online, some in person, but I need five more people, will you be one of them?

Thankyou Ult sand Ger Carrick for once again supporting the kiirtan community in Dublin by putting on Chant and Joy ., thanks also to Kamala Alister for sharing with us her kiirtan and bhajans as well as Michelle and Jiivan Jack McCarthy.
