Brackloon NS Annual School Duathlon
On a beautiful June day, our 5th and 6th class pupils took part in our annual Brackloon NS Duathlon. The challenge began with a 4km run through the beautiful Brackloon Woods before the pupils transitioned to an 8km cycle through Brackloon, Cloona, Prospect and Loughloon, finishing back at Brackloon NS.
It was wonderful to see our pupils rise to the challenge with such enthusiasm, determination and resilience. In completing the course, they demonstrated not only their fitness and strength but also the confidence and positive attitude they have developed throughout the year. They should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
For many pupils, this was their first experience of taking part in a duathlon. We hope it has inspired them to continue setting personal goals, embracing new challenges and enjoying the lifelong benefits of being active. Maybe this was the first step towards taking part in events such as the Sea2Summit or Gaelforce West in the years ahead! đź’Ş
At Brackloon NS, we believe that education is about much more than the classroom. Events like this help to develop resilience, perseverance, teamwork, self-belief and a growth mindset—qualities that will stand our pupils in good stead throughout their lives.
A sincere thank you to our wonderful past pupils and parent volunteers who generously gave their time to marshal the course and ensure the event was conducted safely. Your support, encouragement and community spirit made the day possible, and we are deeply grateful for your help.
Finally, congratulations to our fantastic 5th and 6th class pupils. You embraced every kilometre with smiles, determination and encouragement for one another. We hope the memories of this special day stay with you for many years to come, and that it marks the beginning of a lifelong enjoyment of running, cycling and challenging yourselves to achieve even more.
Well done, everyone!
