DCU Judo Club Welcome to the Dublin City Universtity Judo Club. The class is taken by head coach Brian Head and we are always looking for new members. See you on the mats!

Hello everyone so we have a surprise this week in Judo, we have a guest speaker Niamh coming in to do a session with us. She is going to help us in the psychological aspect of our Judo. Getting through that barrier in our head that is stopping us from throwing everybody, every time. She is coming in on Wednesday, so make a big effort to come down and who knows you may just learn something!

Anyway for all of us fighting we are meeting at 3 o'clock in the reception of the sports center. Hope to see you all there.

Well everyone it is inter-varsities time again. They are taking place in Queens University on the 18th of February. Some things to note:
-We will be driving up, petrol will be covered by the club, so travel is free for the event so don't be shy about entering and travelling up;
-Entry and two nights accommodation will be 25€ per person, the 25€ euro is based on everyone entering in their weight and kyu (belt) category
-Their will be weighing scales on the mat, on monday. If you are shy about your weight and don't want everyone knowing it, weigh yourself before hand.
-We need to have names of entrants pretty quickly, by Monday to be exact, so please do come down and compete its a great competition.
-Finally we will be staying on saturday night for the annual dinner / p**s up event after the competition, so pack yourself some fancy clothes for when you are receiving your medals.

And finally I hope to see you all on the mat Monday we are back on again at the usual times from this Monday till the end of semester. Usual Times for those who don't know are Monday 18:30 - 20:00 and Wednesday 19:00 - 20:30

Hello everyone and welcome to 2012. Hope everyone had a great christmas and New Years. For those like me, who are studying for the DCU exams best of luck in the exams. As most of you know we do not go back to judo until the official start of Semester 2, which is Monday 6th of February. So we all have had a long lay off lets get right back onto the horse.

Hello everyone,
Today was our last day before Christmas, so some things to say:
-Thanks to all who turned up and trained with us during the semester, its been great having you on the mat. Lets keep this up in the new year
-There is an JI (judo Ireland) event taking place on the 28th/29th of January, affiliation doesn't seem to be important so it would be a great opportunity to practice before the inter-varsities, email [email protected] if you would like to enter
-Also there will be no training till the week after the DCU exams finish at the earliest, so thats the week after the JI event (30th January).
-Finally I'd like to thank both Brian and Darragh for coaching us during the semester.

Keep fit over the winter and have a happy holidays from all at dcu judo

Hi Guys, Just letting ye know training is on this week. I know some other clubs and socs don't traiin reading week but they aren't as hardcore as us. :P See ye on the mats Monday. :) Christine.

Howdy all. Just to let you all know. There will be no training on bank holiday monday, for obvious reasons of the hangovers we are all expecting to have. Hope to see you all back on the mat on Wednesday at 7. Eoin

Hi Guys, I was thinking, does anyone have an Ipod they would be willing to bring to training? Some upbeat music to get us going? Unfortunately I'm not privileged enough to have one in my possession. :( Just an idea, Brian told me to put it out there, he said he can supply the speakers.

Hey Guys, So finally got access to this sorry for the delay. Clubs and Socs day is next Tuesday and Wednesday, the 4th and 5th would really appreciate it if some of ye could come along and help out. We're looking into getting training times sorted, and we'll update ye as soon as we know. :)
