More time in the stable means it's worth thinking about how we keep our horses occupied.

Stable toys, boredom breakers and licks can add variety to the day, alongside the essentials: suitable forage, time out of the stable and exercise.

Which type does your horse prefer — a ball, a hanging toy or a lick? 👇 Available to purchase through the Equillence website.

As we move from summer into winter, our horses' routines and management can change considerably. 🍂

Changes in routine, vaccinations and worming can all mean it's a good time to look at the bigger picture — including liver and kidney function and how efficiently your horse is making use of the nutrients in their feed and supplements.

Some signs worth paying attention to include:

• Straining to urinate or unusually strong-smelling urine
• Difficulty putting on or maintaining condition
• Puffy legs
• A dull coat
• Sensitivity behind the saddle

These signs can have many possible causes and can sometimes be confused with nutritional issues such as copper deficiency. A blood test is needed to establish whether a copper deficiency is actually present.

Cavalor HepatoLiq can be considered as part of an appropriate seasonal management plan, but supplements shouldn't simply be added because the seasons have changed. The right approach depends on the individual horse and their needs.

Questions about your horse's diet or seasonal management? Get in touch with Equillence.🐎

Spooky season has arrived, and apparently everything is terrifying. 👻🐴

The wind is suspicious. Leaves are plotting something. The mud has taken over the yard.

Meanwhile, we're getting ready for the change of season with practical essentials for coat care, calmer routines and keeping horses occupied when they're spending more time indoors.

Welcome to autumn at the yard. 🍂

Cavalor nutritionist Fien Demeyere talks about how wet and muddy conditions can take their toll on your horse’s skin.
Prolonged exposure to moisture can soften the skin around the pastern and weaken its natural protective barrier, making it easier for bacteria and other microorganisms to take hold.

So what can you do?

Cavalor MudDoc is designed to support and protect the skin of the lower leg as part of your horse’s daily care routine during wet and muddy periods.

🧼 For a complete routine, pair it with Cavalor Derma Wash to gently cleanse the skin before applying MudDoc.

As the fields get wetter, get your mud-season care routine ready. 🐴🌧️

MudDoc & Derma Wash available at Equillence.

🍂 PACKING AWAY THE ELECTROLYTES BECAUSE SUMMER IS OVER? THINK AGAIN.

Electrolytes aren't just a summer supplement.

Horses lose electrolytes through sweat, so whenever your horse is sweating heavily during work, training or competition, those losses need to be replaced — whatever the time of year.

And unlike some nutrients, electrolytes aren't stored in the body for later use. They need to be supplied as and when your horse needs them.

So if your horse is still working hard and sweating, electrolytes should still be part of the routine. 💦🐴

Think less about the season and more about how much your horse is sweating.

Summer might be over. Electrolytes aren't.

Not sure how much your horse needs? Get in touch with the Equillence team.
