We are so excited to see all of our returning students and get to know our new students when we return on Tuesday.
Here's a really useful suggestion if your child tends to be clingy or crying at drop off.
We always tell our parents that children can feed off their senses, so wear a happy face and tell them it's going to be a great day! 😁

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend, John McGovern on Sunday 19th July, 2026.

Up until his illness took hold last summer, John was our go-to when we needed transportation for our preschool and afterschool services since we opened in 2012.

John took our preschool children to many outings over the last 14 years with Cosy Cats Childcare and St. Molaise Preschool & Afterschool, as part of our Shared Education programmes. He also took us on our own little trips to Mullaghmore Beach and Five Star Fun. We often enjoyed an ice-cream together from Paddy's
before we headed back to school.

For over four years, John transported children from St.Aidan’s NS, Ballintrillick, Sligo to attend our afterschool services, and was so flexible and helpful throughout.

We will forever be grateful to him for the kindness he showed to the staff and children of Acorn Montessori School and Afterschool.

We extend our sincere condolences to John's wife Joan, his sons Darren, Damien and Ryan, their partners, and especially his two grandsons who are past pupils of Acorn.
