Philosophy in Action: Be True to Your Self!
This week, our Middle and Senior classes delved into the philosophical principle of "Be True to Yourself".
We kicked off with a fun game of Cops & Robbers, which we used as a springboard for a thoughtful discussion about the various roles we play in life—pupil, son/daughter, friend.
We explored how understanding our roles helps us remember the behaviours expected of us and reflected on the part of us that remains constant amidst these changing roles: our inner Self.

Although we have to play all these roles in the world, there is something that remains the same—our inner selves. Stay true to that inner Self amidst all the changes and challenges of the world!

Exploring Philosophical Principles for Wholesome Living

At our school, a core part of our ethos is exploring philosophical principles that contribute to wholesome living. This week, we are focusing on Self-Control.
We are exploring how we use our energy and whether it benefits everyone around us. Through various activities and discussions, we aim to help our young learners understand the importance of wholesome living.

Settling-In Time at Our School

Our school hours are 8:20 AM to 1:30 PM for 5 and 6-year-olds, and until 2:30 PM for older children. However, children can arrive from 8:00 AM. This early arrival time allows for a smooth transition from home to school, helping children feel secure and happy.

During this settling-in time, children can engage in activities they are interested in, chat with friends, and play games. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to start their day positively and support their well-being.

Balanced Education for a Bright Future
At our school, we believe in the importance of a balanced education. The children engage with all subjects in the primary curriculum on a weekly basis. Physical Education (PE) is a very important subject to which we provide additional time. We are very lucky to be co-located with our secondary school and therefore can avail of their expert PE teachers. The children have the opportunity to engage in a lot of sports, which is so beneficial for their physical and emotional well-being

As part of this project, the children are collecting nature items around our school and creating beautiful nature collages. Each collage is a unique representation of the natural world around us, showcasing the creativity and imagination of our students.
We are delighted to see how this project is helping our students connect with nature and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day.

Cross-Curricular Learning in Action!
At our school, we believe that cross-curricular learning activities can encourage engagement, motivation, and deepen the learning experience.
In this picture, our students are learning the phrase ‘Is maith liom bheith ag seinm ceoil’ as Gaeilge (I like playing music). They then reinforce their learning by coloring the associated picture. This activity not only helps them practice their Irish language skills but also allows them to express their creativity and solidify their understanding through art.
