Some opportunities don’t arrive looking like opportunities.
Sometimes, they look like a conversation.

A new responsibility.
A room you almost didn’t enter.
A skill you haven’t developed yet.
Or a change you weren’t expecting.

Tomorrow, I’ll be speaking at the RCCG Faith Arena Annual Conference in Monasterevin on Career Development Opportunities.

One of the things I’ll be exploring is something I believe strongly:

Career growth is not only about finding opportunities. It is also about becoming better positioned for them.

How do you recognise the right opportunities?
How do you build the skills and visibility that make people think of you when opportunities arise?
And how do you keep growing when the career path you imagined no longer looks quite the same?

I’m looking forward to a practical conversation around these questions tomorrow.

Thank you to RCCG Faith Arena, Monasterevin and to Olayinka Aremu for the invitation.

If you’re around Kildare, we start at 2:00 PM tomorrow, Saturday 5 September.

How many problems in your business have you solved more than once this week?

That question might reveal more about your business than your revenue does.

A customer issue you’ve handled before.
A team member asking the same question.
An approval that still needs to come to you.
A task you keep doing because “it’s quicker if I just do it myself.”

I’ve been guilty of that too.
But I’ve learned that if I keep solving the same problem, eventually I have to stop blaming the problem.

I need to build a system.

That’s what I’m talking about in this clip from my session at PSA Edinburgh.
For me, SYSTEMS means:
Saving Yourself Time, Energy, Money and Stress.

And that matters whether you’re leading a team, building your career or running a business.

But for founders, it becomes particularly important.

Because if growth simply creates more things for you to personally manage, approve and fix, you haven't really created leverage.
You've created a bigger job for yourself.

That’s one of the areas I’ll be unpacking at the GROWTH Code Business Growth Masterclass on Saturday, 12 September.

If your business is already generating revenue but too much of it still depends on you, this conversation is for you.

Application details in the comments.

What are you still waiting to have completely figured out before you move?
I’ve learned that some of the biggest decisions I’ve made came before I had complete clarity.

I didn’t have every answer.
I couldn’t see exactly how things would work out.
I simply knew enough to take the next step.

And sometimes, that step created the clarity I was waiting for.

We can spend so much time looking for the perfect plan.
The right timing.
More information.
More confidence.

But some answers only become available after you start.

You move.
You learn.
You adjust.

You see things you couldn’t see from where you were standing before.

Planning matters. Preparation matters.
But don’t let your search for certainty become the reason you stay where you are.

You don’t need to see the entire road.

You need enough clarity for the next step, and enough courage to take it.

Making money is one thing.
Knowing what to do with it is another.

Because earning is only the beginning.

What you keep matters.
What you invest matters.
What you build with it matters.

And what continues creating value without your constant effort matters.

This Saturday in London, we’re bringing together professionals, investors and business leaders for Wealth Conclave UK 2.0 to have practical conversations about building, growing and protecting wealth.

I’m looking forward to sharing the room with Niyi Adesanya, Paul Foh, Dr. Oseni Olalekan Abideen, and the other brilliant minds contributing to the conversation.

If you’ve been thinking more intentionally about your financial future, investments, property or how to make the money you earn work harder for you, this conversation is for you.

Maybe you don’t need to work harder this week.
Maybe you need to find out why so much of your effort is not producing enough.

That is a harder question.

Because working harder feels productive.
Diagnosing what is broken feels slower.

But effort does not fix the wrong problem.

A weak sales process will not improve because you chase more leads.
An unclear team will not become accountable because you send more messages.
A broken system will not become scalable because you personally work longer hours.

Sometimes the next stage of growth starts with one thing:

Finding the real constraint.

Before you add another strategy, tool or person, ask:
What is actually limiting progress here?

That question matters in leadership.
It matters in business.
It matters in your career.

Before you work harder, find out what isn’t working.

I’ve become increasingly interested in one question:
What happens after you make the money?

Because earning more is only one part of the equation.

What you build with it matters.
What you invest in matters.
What you preserve matters.
And what eventually outlives your effort matters.

That’s one reason I’m looking forward to the Rolad Wealth Summit in Dublin this September.

I’ll be joining ID Cabasa, Abraham Durosawo and convener, Dotun Oloyede for a conversation around wealth, investment and building for the future.

Your business may be doing well.
And you may still be the biggest thing stopping it from growing.

That can be difficult to admit.

Because when you started, being involved in everything was probably one of the reasons the business survived.

You sold.
You solved problems.
You made the decisions.
You kept customers happy.
You made things happen.

But there comes a point where the habits that helped you build the business begin to limit what it can become.

That is the shift many founders miss.

Growth is not always about finding more customers or increasing revenue.
Sometimes, the business itself needs to grow up.

I unpack this in the short video below.

And over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about the systems, structure and commercial engine required to build a business that can grow beyond its founder.

I’ll also be bringing these pieces together at the GROWTH Code Business Growth Masterclass on Saturday, 12 September.

It’s complimentary, but application is required.

If your business is already generating revenue and you recognise yourself in this video, I’ll put the application link in the comments.

Very little of what I do today is what I was originally trained to do.
And I think that’s becoming normal.

I trained as a teacher.

But over the years, I’ve had to learn how to lead teams, build organisations, develop programmes, speak on stages, grow businesses, build partnerships and work with technology that barely existed when my career began.

The experience mattered.
But so did the willingness to keep changing.

Because experience tells you what worked before.
Adaptability helps you work out what needs to change next.

That matters even more now.

AI is changing how we work.
Businesses are changing.
Careers are changing.
The skills that create value are changing.

So I’m becoming less interested in how long someone has been doing something.
I’m more interested in whether they are still learning.

Your experience got you here.

Don’t let your attachment to it stop you from becoming who you need to be next.

What if you don’t need more potential…
You just need greater clarity about what to do with it?

That is one of the transformations I’ve watched happen through LFPI.

People arrive from completely different backgrounds.
Some want more confidence.
Some want clarity about their purpose.
Some want to communicate and influence better.

Others simply know there is more in them, but haven’t quite figured out how to bring it out.

Then you hear reflections like these.

𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗸𝗽𝗼 speaks about being ready to step up.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗢𝗷𝗼 talks about seeing leadership differently and recognising that she can create change.
𝗚𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻 found greater clarity around his vision and purpose.
𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻 describes becoming more confident and intentional in difficult conversations.

Different people.
Different journeys.
But one common shift:

They began seeing themselves differently.

Today, a new cohort of the 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 & 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗟𝗙𝗣𝗜) begins.

If you’ve been telling yourself:
"I know I’m capable of more, but I’m not sure what the next step is…"

perhaps this is the step.

We start today, and there is still time to join us.

Sometimes leadership doesn’t begin with getting a new title.
It begins with finally recognising the leader already within you.

The future doesn't need you to compete with AI.
It needs you to become more human.

AI can process faster.
Analyse more data.
Automate more tasks.
Produce more content.

But your value has never been only in how much you can produce.
It's also in your judgment.

Your empathy.
Your ability to build trust.
Your courage to make difficult decisions.
Your capacity to communicate when people are uncertain.
Your ability to bring people with you through change.

The mistake would be trying to beat technology at what technology does best.

The opportunity is becoming exceptional at what still requires humanity.

So as you begin this week, yes, learn the tools.
Use AI.
Become more efficient.

But don't neglect the qualities that make people want to work with you, trust you and follow your leadership.

The future will need both.
Better technology. And better humans.
