Green Shoots Playgroup is on tomorrow. There might be a break in clouds for our Playgroup session tomorrow from 10-12, but its likely to be very mucky! so come prepared with wellies and waterproofs... thanks Sylvi for the picture from two weeks ago....

Green Shoots playgroup is on tomorrow and the weather is looking lovely. It might be quite hot so bring suncream, sun hats and water to drink. If its really nice we might go for a little paddle in the river and have a picnic on the bank. So you can bring your old runners or booties. and we can head to the river with nets and buckets and see what wildlife we can find.

Scones and tea/coffee/cocoa afterwards. 3 per child, 2 per sibling. Hope to see you there, Fiona

Calling all parent of primary school children! Please send a message to your school principal asking them to send this book back to the SEEFA or the society of Irish Foresters (details below)!

It is an inappropriate, unbalanced, greenwashing booklet portraying sitka spruce in a green light. Yes it may be good as a commercial crop for timber for the construction industry, but it is not good for our environment, particulry when poorly managed or planted in the wrong location (clear felling/planting on bogs/cliffsides/mountains/beside rivers etc.)

Apparently, two copies of this booklet, along with a digital version (including a narrated story with sound effects), are being sent to every primary school on the island of Ireland. This book is an 'almost copy' of a UK booklet produced in 2024., which was supported by the UK construction industry. The digital resources are also not updated for the Irish context, and also include the sounds of a 'generic eagle soundbyte' often heard on hollywood movies!!! 😲 (Producers of this booklet are - Society of Irish Foresters, DCU Alpha, Old Finglas road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11; SEEFA, IBEC, 84-86 Lower Baggot street, Dublin 2.

Green Shoots is on tomorrow, it might be a bit showery and blustery so come prepared with waterproofs and wellies! Scones and drinks in the cabin afterwards. We will finish up promptly at 12 tomorrow, as the wind will be getting up. Hope to see you then.

Green Shoots playgroup on tomorrow. We might be a little bit later starting up tomorrow, about 10.30, but we'll got on a half hour extra. €3 per child, €2 per sibling, unwaged and under 1's free. Tea, coffee, cocoa and scones after the session. hope to see you there.
