As part of Philosophy Week, 3rd Class completed projects on philosophers Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle. The children showed great teamwork and curiosity as they explored the ideas of these famous thinkers. Lovely work!

Last Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome author James Campbell to our school. He shared many wonderful stories and had the children captivated from the moment he began. Everyone really enjoyed the visit.
James has been writing since he was 7, and visiting schools since his early twenties. Incredibly, we were his 3,2008th school to visit!

On Monday, Infants and 5th Class met up with their buddies for the first time.
They were so excited to meet our buddies and spend time with them.
This week they read books together and had great fun!

We officially have our new Active School Flag committee! The team will help our school achieve our third Active Flag. Their next order of business is to organise our upcoming whole school challenge! Stay tuned for more! Thanks team!

Last week our Junior Infants class was learning about penguins. The class found out lots of interesting facts, read books about penguins and made some penguin art

5th Class achieved a lot earlier this month. They participated in a handball tournament and showed great support and participation.
They have been exploring length in maths and making their own meter sticks, and, most importantly, they have been busy rehearsing for their Christmas Performance. Looking forward to it 5th Class!

Last week the school focused on practising mindfulness in different ways and showing gratitude. 2nd class read a variety of stories about showing gratitude and being mindful. They wrote positive affirmations about themselves and designed hearts which showcased pictures of themselves showing gratitude and many more fun activities around the theme. Lovely work 2nd Class!

Halloween throwback!
Just a snip it of some of the amazing Halloween costumes some of 3rd Class wore on our dress up day!
Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled day of Halloween art, games, and plenty of fun.

Last week the school finished a two week skipping challenge. Each class skipped together to climb the heights of Europe's highest peaks. We did a lot of jumping as part of the Athletics strand in PE. The children improved their cardiovascular health as well as their personal best score each day.

Recently, 6th Class completed projects on ‘Outstanding Animals’. Each person chose their animal, carried out research and then presented their Outstanding Animal to the class. The class learned about pigs, service macaws, space dogs and everything in between.
Lovely work 6th Class!
