Celebrating Creativity in Verse! 🎉

Our "Poetry in Your Style" project showcased the incredible talent and imagination of our students. From heartfelt haikus to whimsical limericks, each poem was a testament to the unique voices within our classroom.​

Reader's Favourite Award: A standing ovation to James, whose poem about Tipperary GAA resonated deeply with his peers, earning him the well-deserved Reader's Favourite award.​

Educator's Spotlight Award: A special commendation to Lucy, whose exceptional creativity and thoughtful expression captured the essence of poetic artistry, earning her the Educator's Spotlight award.​

Your poems have painted vivid pictures and stirred emotions, reminding us all of the power of poetry. Keep writing, keep dreaming, and continue to let your voices be heard.

Huge congratulations to our First Year student Faye Lynch who was the recipient of the under 13 Player of the tournament award presented to Faye from the Limerick District Soccer League. Faye plays for Newport Town AFC and the LDSL Well done Faye !

Congratulations to our senior girls soccer team who had a convincing win over Gaelcholaiste Luimnigh yesterday. The girls were unlucky to concede within the first five minutes but showed grit and determination, led by co-captain Aoibhinn McNamara, to claw a goal back soon after. The girls worked effectively as a team to take comfortable control of the match. Braces from Jayne Ryan and Caelyn Walsh-O’Toole saw our girls complete a convincing 4-2 victory.

Our mascot for the day, Harper, was the good luck charm who helped our co-captain, Emma Sweeney and the girls enjoy a great birthday win. 🍀

Well done to our first year boys soccer team who came from 4-2 down to win the Munster shield semi final today after extra time against Coachford College. Final score on the day was 6-4. Great resilience shown by the team to fight back and take the game to extra time. Thanks to the three officials and Coachford for a great game.

We welcomed back past pupil Anita Whelton today. She gave a presentation to the Leaving cert Art class about her experience doing a degree in Architecture. This was an insightful exercise for our current students who will soon embark on their own creative paths.

The TY GCE students delivered micro lessons to the 1st and 2nd year students on Fast Fashion and its detrimental impact on our planet and people. As well as educating each other, our school community will take action to combat this problem with next week's Swap Shop. Please support by donating good quality 2nd hand items. This gives you free entry to the event and our Sustainable fashion show.
