Sometimes protecting your peace means allowing a message to sit unanswered until you are calm & have time to respond wisely.

James 1:19 reminds us to be β€œquick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

That is more than good advice. It is wisdom.

Many messages do not need an immediate response.

Some conversations deserve a version of you that isn't irritated, defensive, angry, or determined to provoke social media drama. Many times, it is better to spend your energy where it matters most - and, decidedly, at the right time.

I just watched a USA court in session where the judge said something to a defendant who wanted to represent himself.

He said:

β€œYou cannot perform brain surgery on yourself!”

Knowing something does not automatically mean you are wise enough to handle it yourself.

And perhaps that applies to conversations too.

When emotions are high, we are often the least qualified person to judge our own response.

Sometimes wisdom is knowing when to pause, step back, or seek help.

Listen first. Breathe. Let the emotion settle.

Then decide whether the conversation needs a response!!

And if it does, respond from wisdom rather than reaction.

Have a great day!

"I CAN FORGIVE.... BUT I WILL NEVER FORGET"

Too many people are hurting.

And we all know some people who MAJOR in going around and planning bad ways to hurt others, especially nice and quiet people.

To "Forgive but not forget" is a kind of "simple" way of handling deep grievances and personal offenses.

HOW DO YOU VIEW THIS ISSUE?

Forgiveness involves letting go of resentment or the need to "get your own back," and it seems to promote peace of mind and, emotional (even spiritual) healing.
However, if you decide NOT to forget the incident, it means that you keep that event in your memory, perhaps, to learn from it, and/or even to protect you from getting hurt again in the future.

THE QUESTION THEN IS:

* So, what does forgiveness (really) mean to you?
* Have you ever felt like forgiving someone but NOT forgetting?
* Has forgiving someone helped YOU personally or emotionally? How?
* In what way has NOT forgetting the incident or their bad behavior benefited you?

The Discussion continues in the Comment Section.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

β€œBut blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
