We’re delighted to announce that the Avondhu Ball will be taking place on Saturday the 23rd January 2027 in Springfort Hall 🥂

Mark your calendars, get your our outfits and dancing shoes sorted for a night truly not to be missed!
A superb meal followed by unbelievable live music followed by a DJ to take us into the early hours of the morning 💃🏼 it's truly a night not to be missed!

🏐 Regional GAA (7-a-side Football) 🏐

What a morning in Rathcormac for the regional round of GAA where the men from Freemount and Fermoy went head to head for the regional title!

A massive well done to both teams!
After a nerve wrecking match, which ended in penalties to finish Freemount we're victorious 🏆

Not only will the lads from Freemount progress to the National Final but the ladies of Freemount will also go forward to the National Final in November! The very best of luck to both teams 👏🏼

Avondhu Macra Information Evening in Hibernian Hotel Mallow this Friday

Avondhu Macra, which represents the North Cork region, will host an information event on Friday, September 25, from 7pm to 8pm at the Hibernian Hotel in Mallow.

The evening is aimed at people aged 17 to 40 who may be looking for a new social outlet, an opportunity to meet people or a way to become more involved in their local community.

There is no commitment required to attend, with organisers encouraging anyone who is curious about Macra to simply come along and see what it is about.

The Avondhu region is made up of seven local clubs, giving attendees an opportunity to meet members and hear about the range of activities available.

While Macra has strong links with agriculture and rural communities, the organisation offers a wide range of social, sporting and personal development activities.

These can include sports, quizzes, debating, drama, creative writing and stock judging, with members encouraged to get involved in activities that interest them and to try something new.

Organisers say the organisation can provide opportunities to develop new skills while also building friendships and connections within the local community.

Impromptu Public Speaking 🗣️
A list of topics are placed in a ‘hat’ and randomly chosen by each competitor who will have to speak on three different topics, two minute/ per topic.

Team Public Speaking 🗣️🗣️🗣️
3 team members. Team may select their own topic for regional round, 15 mins for team speaking.

Both of these competitions are a fantastic opportunity to try a new skill!
