What a wonderful day at the Millstreet Open Day & Lifelong Learning Festival event
Visitors explored the garden, admired the beautiful new community library box art project, and enjoyed homemade cakes and biscuits. The air was filled with singing, dancing, and great community spirit, making it a truly joyful celebration of learning and connection. It was great to see the strong interest in joining classes this September, lifelong learning is alive and thriving in Millstreet

Join our workshop to:

✔ Learn how to create a strong CV and present your skills with confidence
✔ Understand how to explain career breaks
✔ Explore how self-employment works in reality
✔ Learn how to write a simple business plan
✔ Check if your business idea is viable and who your customers could be
✔ Find out about supports like WPEP, BTWEA, STEA, Springboard+, ETB courses and the Part-Time Job Incentive

Millstreet Library wants you to pop in on Wednesday morning, 26th November at 10:30am for an Integration Craft Workshop.

This is a warm, welcoming event where everyone in Millstreet is invited, whether you are a regular user or someone that has never visited the library, please come along to Millstreet Library.

We will have some short presentations where you can learn about:

For 30 years, SECAD has been supporting integration in communities across Cork.
One way we do this is through 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀, giving refugees and migrants a space to practice English, build confidence, and make friends. 💬

Our clubs run in 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗹, 𝗖𝗼𝗯𝗵, 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, and 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 — all volunteer-led. We are so grateful to the volunteers who dedicate their time to support newcomers.

Meet 𝘈𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵, leading the Macroom club. Her dedication and warmth are making a real difference in people’s lives. Her story was recently featured in the 𝑰𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕, showing how volunteers like Aurora help turn a new country into a welcoming community.
