πβ¬100,000.π
32 Contestants. One Incredible Night.
Now the dust has settled and everyone has had time to recuperate, it's hard to know where to begin...
What started as an ambitious idea to raise money for a new playground, outdoor sensory garden and stage for every child in Killavullen NS has turned into something far beyond what we could have imagined.
β¬100,000 raised. π€―
And behind that number are 32 incredible contestants who gave their time, energy, dignity and, in some cases, any remaining shred of self-respect π to take part in Quid Games.
But more than that, they worked incredibly hard before the night even arrived, finding ingenious and inventive ways to raise money.
To every single contestant, including Dina who unfortunately couldn't make it on the night having put in all the hard work β thank you.
You didn't just take part in a fundraiser.
You helped change what is possible for the children of Killavullen NS. π
A massive thank you too to all of our sponsors and business supporters, whose generosity helped make the whole thing possible. From our main sponsors to the local businesses and individuals who backed contestants, bought advertising, donated prizes, supported the raffle and gave so generously throughout the campaign β we are incredibly grateful.
And to everyone who bought tickets, donated, shared posts, bought raffle tickets, sponsored contestants, volunteered, helped behind the scenes or simply encouraged us along the way:
Thank you. You took a school fundraiser and turned it into a community effort on a scale we could never have predicted.
And then there was the night itself...
What a night!
Huge thanks to John Butterly, our brilliant MC, and to all at Fundraising Events Group for putting on such a fantastic show.
Masive thanks to johnhannonphotography for mercilessly π«£ documenting the entire evening.
MΓle buΓochas to the school staff, Parents' Association, Board of Management and to all who helped in organising on the night.
And, of course, congratulations to our first-ever Quid Games Champion, Aoife Dillon. π
And finally...
There is one group of people who deserve a very special mention...
Our Quid Games Committee.
Kelly, Jackie, Will, Katie, Aoife and Damien.
The amount of work, organisation, ideas, phone calls, messages, chasing, planning, worrying, laughing and problem-solving that went on behind the scenes is difficult to put into words.
This event simply would not have happened without you.
You took an idea and turned it into one of the most memorable nights in the history of Killavullen National School.
And ultimately going towards something that will be enjoyed by children for many, many years to come.
A space for every child to play, grow & belong. π
β¬100,000 raised.
What an achievement.
What a community.
And what a night.
On behalf of all Killavullen pupils, present and future,
