​St. Colmans Boys NS, Macroom is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted School Age Assistant to join our vibrant before and after-school community.

​⭐️The Role at a Glance
📍​Location: St. Colmans Boys NS, Macroom
​Hours: 23–24 hours per week
​Position: School Age Deputy Manager.
⏰️Hours 7.30am to 9.30am and 2 to 3 evenings per week, 3pm to 5/6pm.
​⭐️Key Responsibilities
👉​Assisting the Manager in the daily operations of the school-age childcare service.
👉​Providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children.
👉​Building strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
👉​Ensuring high standards of care, safety, and organization are maintained daily.
​⭐️ What We Are Looking For
☝️​The Essentials:
👉​A genuine love for children—you must be naturally loving, kind, and deeply caring.
👉​High levels of responsibility, trustworthiness, and strong organizational skills.

🙏​The Advantages (But Not Essential):
👉​Experience working in a similar childcare or supervisory role.
👉​Relevant publications or certifications (an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided).

We would like to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year and want to wish everyone a relaxing, sunny summer filled with memory making opportunities. We wish all our preschool leavers all the best for their next chapter, you are truly amazing and have been such a joy to teach. We will miss you so much.

I would like yo thank everyone for welcoming Busy Bees into their lives and making my first year with you such an enjoyable experience.

We look forward to welcoming back our children who will be returning for 2026 and our new children who will be joining us for their first year in preschool.

From everyone in Busy Bees Preschool we want to wish you all a fabulous summer with lots of sunshine 🌞 and laughter 😃. We look forward to meeting all of our new children in September and welcoming back our children for another year in preschool/ daycare/ breakfast club and afterschool club.

We also want to say a very sad goodbye to our wonderful friend and Deputy Manager Tiziana, but wish her all the best for her future and new chapter, whatever she will do will be amazing ❤️😢💔🥳🎊❤️

Another important message 😊
As part of our Community Helpers Curriculum, we received a very special surprise visit on Tuesday! We were delighted to welcome Garda Orla Doyle for an engaging and informative Safety Talk. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and learned about staying safe, making good choices, and the important role that An Garda Síochána plays in our community. A huge thank you to Garda Orla for taking the time to visit and chat with the children 👮‍♀️✨

Also, today, we are very excited for another special visit! 🎶
A musician will be coming to play some music for us and maybe even help us sing some of the songs we are practising for our Graduation Day. The children are looking forward to having lots of fun and getting some extra singing practice too!
