A mainstream secondary school setting does not suit every student’s needs, and some choose to avail of alternative educational pathways such as Youthreach.

🍏🍎 Do you know about Youthreach? It’s a programme that can provide education, training, and work opportunities if you’ve left school without a formal qualification.

👨‍🏫 The programme is usually full-time, but part-time courses are possible too.

You can choose the main area of your training, but subjects like English, maths, and life skills are also usually covered.

The course generally runs from 1 to 2 years, but it can be flexible.

When you finish, you’ll get a Foundation Cert or the Junior Cert. If you like, you can then:

✅ Continue to the Leaving Cert Applied course
✅ Go for a higher-level QQI award
✅ Choose to continue with other skills training, like an apprenticeship
