Massive congratulations to Leaving Cert student, Saoirse Twomey, who was running in the All Ireland Track & Field Championships in Tullamore today. She ran a fantastic time in a very high quality 3000m race and finished 6th, an amazing result given she begins her Leaving Cert exams on Wednesday. This is a huge achievement as she pairs this with her 5th place finish in the Cross Country All Irelands. This was Saoirse’s final run for the school and the legacy she leaves is one of commitment and class. Well done Saoirse! 🤩🏃🏻‍♀️

We were delighted to welcome past pupil Aoife Lucey back to St Mary’s recently to collect a cheque for €1500 raised by our school community in support of her incredible challenge for Childhood Cancer Ireland. 💛

To mark 10 years since her diagnosis, Aoife is taking on the amazing challenge of running 10 half marathons, finishing with the Copenhagen Half Marathon as her final milestone.

We are so proud to support Aoife as she raises both funds and awareness for such an important cause. Wishing her the very best of luck in the remaining races!

Pictured here are Laura and Grace presenting Aoife with the cheque.

Congratulations to our TY students on their graduation last week! 🎓
Throughout the year, the girls embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, creativity and positivity, making the most of all that Transition Year had to offer.

A huge thank you to their coordinator, Mr Quill, and all of their teachers for the fantastic opportunities and experiences they provide for our girls each year. Wishing all our TYs the very best for their final few years in St Mary’s!

The Leaving Cert Graduation Evening 2026 at St Mary’s was a truly special celebration filled with music, laughter, reflection, and unforgettable memories. The evening was made extra special by the fantastic singing and musical performances from our talented choir and musicians. Their incredible performances brought warmth and joy to the occasion and showcased the wonderful talent within the graduating class. A special mention goes to our MCs, Emily E. Cronin and Fern Mullane, who guided the evening so wonderfully, and to Sinead O’Connell for her heartfelt and entertaining speech, which perfectly captured the spirit, friendship, and memories shared by the Class of 2026. Heartfelt thanks to Ms Murnane, Ms O’Donovan, Ms Murphy, and Ms Donovan for organising such a beautiful event and ensuring the evening ran so smoothly. It was a night of celebration, reflection, and pride for students, families, and staff alike. We wish the Class of 2026 every success and the very best of luck in their upcoming Leaving Cert examinations and in all that lies ahead. 🎓✨

The Leaving Cert students of 2026 marked their final day at St Mary’s with a celebration full of fun, laughter, and lasting memories. The day began with a graduation mass rehearsal, followed by a delicious breakfast prepared by Trish. The girls then enjoyed activities including “Guess the Teacher from Their Baby Photo,” the yearbook presentation and signing, and a lively teachers vs students dodgeball match that brought plenty of excitement (and disagreements!) ✨
