We were full of the Friday feeling today as we were having our first Daffodil walk of the year 🚶♀️🚶♂️
Wetsuits, wellies, hats and hi vis's were today's uniform. We have been observing the changes happening in nature all around us over the last few weeks so it was all agreed on that our first walk should be a nature walk 🏞
As we left playschool, we listened to the birds sing, found conkers under the big trees and spotted the coloured leaves high up on the branches 🍂 We practised crossing the road safely and turned down on to Mill Road. A few of the Daffodils told us to stop and listen, we all concentrated and heard the little stream flowing beside us. We dandered on another little bit and found a gap in the trees so sent Elaine in to investigate. We think the Gruffalo might live in there so we didn't hang about too long incase he wanted Daffodil sandwiches for brunch!! 🥪
Maeve lead us up through the Chapel car park where we stopped to question the shape of the building and a few curious little minds spotted the stained glass windows. We loved spotting the different colours on the plants and even spied some autumnal flowers growing!
Adelle had the great idea to explore and investigate under the trees in Colehill. We found the most beautiful coloured leaves, collected sticks and examined (but didn't touch) the mushrooms growing in the green! It was so much fun!
Then we chanced our arm and asked Adam to check in the Garda Station to see if anyone was in. To our absolute delight Garda Alan said he'd give us a tour of the van 🚓 Its a good job he's used to being under pressure as the questions flew at him thick and fast;
Did he have handcuffes❓
Did he have a gun❓
Could he lock the teachers up❓😂
The boys and girls had so much fun and Esther made sure we got to see the lights and listen to the sirens! 🚔
The bellies started to rumble at this point so we headed back to playschool. And what a treat awaited us! Jacqui thought we'd need a wee heat so there was chicken dippers and a cup of tea was waiting for us ☕
Our Daffodils declared it the best day ever ❤
